GM Reimagines Head-Up Display Technology
Imagine a fog-shrouded morning when you cannot see the end of your driveway let alone the road you’re about to drive. Wouldn’t it be great if the sides of the road could magically appear on your windshield?
It’s not magic, and it’s not far away either.

A Little About The Man Who Started It All: Meet Rudolf Diesel
No other engine inventor's name is as closely tied to his engine as Rudolf Diesel's is. But Diesel worked hard to make it that way. Diesel started his education in Paris and spent most of his time in the museum of arts and crafts. The outbreak of the Franco-Prussian War forced him to leave Paris and go to London. He later studied in Munich under the German chemist Carl Von Linde. He invented the refrigeration system used now in many electrical refrigerators. Diesel grew to become a very important engineer and inventor.

GM’s Fuel Cell System Shrinks in Size, Weight, Cost
General Motors Co. is testing a production-intent hydrogen fuel cell system that can be packaged in the space of a traditional four-cylinder engine and be ready for commercial production in 2015.
The system is half the size, 220 pounds lighter and uses about a third of the platinum of the system in the Chevrolet Equinox Fuel Cell electric vehicles used in Project Driveway, the world’s largest market test and demonstration fleet of fuel cell electric vehicles that began in late 2007 and has amassed nearly 1.3 million miles of everyday driving in cities around the world.

Volvo Encourages U.S. Employers To Adopt Distracted Driving Policies
As numerous consumer education campaigns surface to eliminate the dangers of distracted driving, Volvo Cars of North America (VCNA) invites other U.S. employers to join the movement by enacting stronger policies regarding the use of cell phones while driving.
VCNA has had strict safe-driving policies in place for its company cars for decades. These include mandatory use of seat belts for all occupants and hands-free devices for cellular phones while driving. Texting while driving is strictly prohibited for all Volvo employees while driving Volvo company cars.

As Roles Of Women Change, Ford Recognizes Their Societal Status - And Their Unique Purchasing Punch
The old-time Ford advertisements from the turn of the 20th century tell a quaint story: They show the woman of that time as a fragile creature, somewhat prone to panic, in need of a simplistic automobile that even she can operate.
Times have most definitely changed. Ford vehicles are still durable and easy to handle, but the women behind the wheel bear little resemblance to the hothouse flower of yesteryear. She’s strong, self-assured, and very capable of taking care of herself. As the National Women’s History Project sponsors its 30th Women’s History Month in March, Ford Motor Company is more aware than ever of the changing role that women hold in today’s society.

At a press conference today, Toyota Motor Sales (TMS), U.S.A., Inc. offered key preliminary findings of technical field examination and testing that were performed on March 10 and 11 regarding an alleged "runaway Prius" event dramatically covered by national news media.
Toyota engineers completed an investigation of the 2008 Prius driven by Mr. James Sikes that was the subject of a 911 emergency call on Monday, March 8. The emergency operator repeatedly instructed the driver to shift the car into neutral and turn off the power button.

Toyota Prius Vehicle Throttle and Brake Systems: Myth VS. Fact
Myth: The start/stop button on the dash will not turn off my Prius while it’s running.
Fact: On early to 2010 models with a push-button smart key system, pushing and holding the button on the dash for about three seconds will shut off the ignition system on the vehicle – even if it’s in gear and moving along the roadway. Newer models may have different control logic – you only have to press the button briefly to shut down the vehicle. Check your Owner’s Manual for details on your vehicle’s system.
