IRC: Meeke And Wilks Go Head-To-Head In Scotland
Kris Meeke and Guy Wilks, driving the two cars draped in their British flag, are turning the RACMSA Rally of Scotland into a private battle for victory. Meeke, already crowned as the 2009 Intercontinental Rally Challenge series winner, has led from the start in his Peugeot UK-entered 207 S2000 but has been pushed all the way by Wilks in his Skoda UK-entered Fabia S2000.
A thrilling contest between two of the sport's rising stars has been played out in the spectacular Scottish countryside. Ranging through the green Scottish hills from Perthshire to the Trossachs, today's action began under brilliant blue skies and ended under thunderclouds at dusk.

Canadian Rally Championship: National Title At Stake For Mitsubishi At Tall Pines Rally
With the sixth and final round of the Canadian Rally Championship being held this weekend in Bancroft, Ontario, Antoine L’Estage and co-driver Nathalie Richard from St-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Québec, in their 2009 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution, are one step closer to becoming national champions. If this happens, it will be a first for Mitsubishi in Canada.
Eight additional teams, all steering Mitsubishi Lancer models, have entered into this unpredictable event where weather often determines the outcome. Among the open class favorites are Andrew Comrie-Picard and Jeremy Wimpey in a second Evolution; Simon Losier and François Morin driving a Synchro Racing Evolution VIII RS and Maxime Losier and Philippe Poirier, also in a Synchro Racing Evolution VIII RS.

IRC: Rally Of Scotland Begins With Spectacle
With the local radio traffic news advising people to stay at home unless their journeys were necessary, a mammoth crowd still ventured to historic Scone Palace this evening to cheer the start of the RACMSA Rally of Scotland: the final round of the 2009 Intercontinental Rally Challenge.
A jubilant atmosphere filled the site where Scotland’s kings were once crowned, fuelled by bagpipes and fireworks, and there was nothing that either thick fog or driving rain could do to dampen the spirit of the occasion. Scotland’s first minister, Alex Salmond, flagged the field away from the ceremonial start and into a 1.53km ‘superspecial’ stage to thrill the thousands of fans who had braved the weather.

Perez Defies Odds To Claim Top Twenty Finish On Rac Rally
Kick Energy rally driver Steve Perez' hopes of a decent finish on the Roger Albert Clark Rally were once again dashed as history repeated itself in the most bizarre fashion.
A stalwart of the De Lacy Motor Club's four-day marathon, that recaptures the spirit of yesteryear's Lombard RAC Rallies, Perez and co driver Carl Williamson were hoping for a good run in their ubiquitous Lancia Stratos and despite the horrendous weather on Friday evening, their event got off to a good start around the Pickering Showground spectator stage.

Subaru Rally Team Canada’s Pat Richard (Squamish, B.C.) and co-driver Alan Ockwell (Toronto) need to win to have a hope for repeating as Canadian Rally Champion driver and co-driver. The team is also leading the points standings for the manufacturers championship in their 2008 Subaru Impreza STI.

IRC: Strong Entry For RACMSA Rally of Scotland
More than 60 crews have entered the RACMSA Rally of Scotland, the final round of the Intercontinental Rally Challenge on November 19-21, with 2009 champion driver Kris Meeke heading the list of runners.
Meeke, who will drive a Peugeot UK 207 Super 2000, is expected to face strong opposition from what amounts to the single biggest gathering of British-based talent in recent years. Heading the competition for Meeke will be British driver Guy Wilks in a Skoda Fabia S2000, new factory Proton pilot Alister McRae and British champion Keith Cronin – who will appear at the wheel of an Abarth Grande Punto.

IRC: Interest Surges Towards 2010 Rallye Monte Carlo
The revised route, premier TV package and incentives for amateur and top professional teams to compete in the 2010 Rallye Monte Carlo has met with a strong positive reaction from competitiors in readiness for the event on January 18-23.
With a much better chance of snow from being based in the high mountain passes of the Ardeche region, and innovations along the 550km route including a selection stage to be run on the evening of Tuesday 19 January to decide the running order of the rally, there are more opportunities than ever for fans and competitors.

2010 Dakar Rally: The 'Dakar' Expedition Of The Volkswagen Team In Detail
Project title defence: Volkswagen will again contest the famous Dakar Rally in January. One year after the triumph of the Wolfsburg-based automobile manufacturer at the debut event in Argentina and Chile – the first in the history of the legendary desert marathon by a diesel-powered automobile – Volkswagen will compete with five Race Touareg vehicles – and with a new sporting challenge: to again bring home the trophy to Wolfsburg. But what does the 32nd edition of the Dakar Rally mean for the five driver/co-driver duos in terms of the sport? What challenges are posed to the technology? And how will the complex logistics be organised?

Avila Close To The Podium At Shanghai
Rodolfo Avila finished in fourth place twice in Porsche Carrera Cup Asia races at the Shanghai International Circuit (China) this Sunday.
The second place on Friday’s Free Practice gave hopes of one more outstanding weekend performance but Avila began to struggle with understeer in the day after. On Saturday’s qualifying Avila was just fourth fastest at the end of the single 30-minute session. Having made significant changes to the set-up in advance of the races, The Venetian Macao driver had hoped for a better finish but the number 20 car’s handling had been evil all weekend.

Volkswagen To Field Five Race Touareg Vehicles At 2010 'Dakar'
It is truly a five-star line-up: Volkswagen will field five Race Touareg vehicles at the 2010 Dakar Rally in Argentina and Chile. The Wolfsburg-based automobile manufacturer has signed the Brazilians Maurício Neves and Clécio Maestrelli as another driver/co-driver team alongside the previously confirmed pairings Carlos Sainz/Lucas Cruz (E/E), Giniel de Villiers/Dirk von Zitzewitz (ZA/D), Mark Miller/Ralph Pitchford (USA/ZA) as well as Nasser Al-Attiyah/Timo Gottschalk (Q/D). The "factory" duos unanimously pursue one goal: to repeat the victory achieved in the 2009 Dakar Rally by the first diesel-powered automobile in the history of the tradition-steeped desert rally at the same venue. In January 2009 de Villiers/von Zitzewitz triumphed ahead of their team-mates Miller/Pitchford and thus made history: Volkswagen won the first "Dakar" held on South American soil with the 280-hp cross-country rally prototype.

Date Change For Specsavers Christmas Stages Rally
The popular Specsavers Christmas Stages Rally, originally scheduled for Monday 28th December 2009 at Croft Circuit in North Yorkshire, will now take place on Saturday 2nd January 2010 instead.
The organiser, Northallerton Automobile Club Ltd, was recently informed by Croft Circuit of the required change and following consultation with the committee, rather than cancel the event which attracts some of the leading competitors in the country, it was decided that both scrutineering and documentation, as well as the rally itself, will now take place just five days later than planned.
