Spyker Cars Relocates Its Vehicle Assembly Lines To The UK
Spyker Cars N.V., manufacturer of exclusive premium sports cars, announces today that it will relocate vehicle assembly to its supplier, CPP (Manufacturing) Ltd, UK.
By relocating its assembly lines from Zeewolde to Coventry, Spyker will achieve considerable improvements in efficiency and substantial cost-reductions. The relocation is expected to be completed by the end of this year.

Hyundai Develops its First Petrol Direct Injection Engine
To help meet its goals of environmental leadership, Hyundai Motor Company has unveiled the 2.4 Theta II GDI, its first petrol direct injection engine.
Representing the biggest advancement in fuel injection - a 1980's technology that replaced the carburettor - GDI puts Hyundai at the cutting edge of engine design and management by achieving three seemingly incompatible goals: lowering emissions while raising power output and improving fuel economy. Prior to GDI, a gain in one area came at the expense of one or the other two.

Kia Motors Posts 34.6 Percent Increase In October Global Sales
Kia Motors Corporation has announced its global sales figures for passenger cars (export sales, domestic sales and sales from overseas plants), recreational vehicles (RVs), and commercial vehicles for October 2009, recording a total of 148,583 units sold. This figure represents a year-on-year increase of 34.6%.
By region, Kia posted year-on-year sales increases in China (24,896 units sold, a 119.3% year-on-year increase), North America (26,093 units sold, a 41.7% year-on-year increase), general markets (29,621 units sold, a 31.7% year-on-year increase), Europe (31,956 units, a 30.1% year-on-year increase) and Korea (39,017 units, a 7.2% year-on-year increase).

General Motors Announces $1.2 Billion Loss, Revenues Up
General Motors Company (GM) released today preliminary non-GAAP managerial results[1] for its first 83 days of operation, providing an initial look at its financial performance since it began operations as a new company on July 10, 2009.
"We have significantly more work to do, but today’s results provide evidence of the solid foundation we’re building for the new GM. With a healthier balance sheet and a competitive cost structure, our focus is on driving top line performance. We’ll achieve that by winning customers over, one at a time, with vehicles that deliver performance and value," said GM President and CEO Fritz Henderson.

Ford Announces Development Of All-New Police Interceptor For Law Enforcment Use Nationwide
Ford Motor Company announced today it will produce an all-new purpose-built Police Interceptor specially designed and engineered to replace the Ford Crown Victoria law enforcement vehicle lineup in 2011.
The new Ford Police Interceptor is being developed in conjunction with Ford’s Police Advisory Board, which provided input during the past 14 months on key vehicle attributes, such as safety, performance, durability, driver convenience and comfort. The new Police Interceptor will be offered without interruption when production of the Ford Crown Victoria ends in late 2011.

36% Of UK Motorists Driving With Dangerous Tyres
Michelin’s 2009 Fill Up With Air campaign results have shown that an alarming 36 per cent of drivers in the UK are driving with dangerous or very dangerously under-inflated tyres*.
The Fill Up With Air tyre safety roadshow, now in its sixth year, took to the roads this summer, visiting 24 cities including Dundee, Manchester and Birmingham to offer drivers a free tyre pressure check and a free fill-up for those with under-inflated tyres.

Soaring sales of the Ford Fusion have made 2009 already a record-breaking year for America’s most fuel-efficient midsize sedan.
Sales for 2009 already have reached 151,137 units, eclipsing the previous Fusion full-year sales high of 149,552 in 2007. Importantly, Fusion sales are skyrocketing at a time when industry sales are the lowest they have been since the early ’80s.
