Heavy ALMS Flavor In First List Of 2010 Le Mans Invites
Five teams and six entries from the American Le Mans Series are among the first 29 teams offered official invitations to next year’s running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. As has been the case for the last 11 seasons, all championship-winning entrants in each American Le Mans Series class receive invites to compete the following year in the world’s greatest auto race along with class winners at the annual Petit Le Mans.
Risi Competizione’s two entries and the first invite for reigning LMP1 champion Patrón Highcroft Racing lead the Series’ contingent. Not only did the trio of Jaime Melo, Pierre Kaffer and Mika Salo give Risi its second straight GT2 crown at Le Mans this year, but the trio also drove the Risi Ferrari F430 GT to a second consecutive class win at Petit Le Mans in September.

2010 Le Mans 24: The Official List Of The 29 Automatically Selected Entrants
The Le Mans 24 Hours, the Petit Le Mans, the Le Mans Series in the United States, Europe and Asia and the winner of the Michelin Green X Challenge make up the races, championships and trophies, which give an official selection for next year’s Le Mans 24 Hours. As all the 2009 season’s championships throughout the world have now finished, here follows the official list of the 29 teams invited.
In application of the ACO regulations and taking into account a few special cases explained below in each of the races, series and qualifying trophies, the Automobile Club de l’Ouest has officially selected 29 entrants for the 78th Le Mans 24 Hours on 12th – 13th June 2010. The car used in 2009 by the selected team appears in brackets on the list.

Corvette Racing’s Oliver Gavin covering his American Le Mans Series season, Le Mans, revivals and running!
1. How did it feel to say goodbye to the Corvette GT1 car in the ALMS after so many successful seasons?
It felt quite sad because the car had generated a huge amount of success for the team and me personally, and I got so much enjoyment out of driving it. With my team mates, I won Le Mans four times in the GT1 car, starting in 2002 and then three great victories with Olivier [Beretta] and Jan [Magnussen] in 2004/05/06. I also won three ALMS championships with Olivier so it played a huge part in my career. The GT1 car spanned a decade of successful competition which is really impressive; I’m pleased to have been part of the history of such an important and special car.

ALMS: In Their Own Words - Team Falken Tire
Tires are a pivotal component for any successful auto racing team - just ask Team Falken Tire motorsport supervisor Kevin Jones, tire engineer Yoshi Yasuda, team manager Rod Everett and driver Bryan Sellers. Each played a critical role in the team’s debut this year of its Porsche 911 GT3 RSR in the American Le Mans Series’ GT2 class, where Sellers and Dominic Cicero posted a best result of eighth at the season-ending Monterey Sports Car Championships presented by Patrón.

Gentilozzi: Develop... Test... Race
Gentilozzi: "We understand how difficult the race is and how preparation plays a vital and fundamental part of success at Sebring."
After receiving feedback following the solo run of the team’s Jaguar XKR during the 2009 season finale at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, RSR has an aggressive program in place to test its car, drivers and team during the offseason. The ultimate goal is preparation for the 58th Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring presented by Fresh from Florida on March 20. The team will test on the 12-hour circuit at Sebring later this month.

2010: Formula Le Mans Alongside The Big Players!
From the next racing season on, FORMULA LE MANS owners (ORECA FLM monotype prototype / 420 BHP GM engine) will have the grand opportunity to take part in LE MANS SERIES 1000 km races in Europe. The FLM are also announced in Northern America within the ¡°ALMS¡± starting in 2010. The 2009 model will undergo minor modifications with an ¡°Endurance Kit¡± including an engine intake restrictor in order to position this ¡°economic prototype¡± at some distance from the LMP2, but nevertheless in front of the GT2 pack.

RSR Prepares For 2010 With The Execution Of A Testing And Development Plan
Debut, test, first race: with those initial milestones out of the way, RSR continues to focus on preparation for 2010, which will see the team field an RSR built Jaguar XKR GT in the 2010 American Le Mans Series (ALMS) championship.
After the RSR Jaguar XKR GT's first event, the 2009 season finale for the ALMS at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca in Monterey, California, the team returned to its East Lansing, Michigan-based race shop ready to measure up the results and begin the development process.

Zytek Collects Award At Professional Motorsport World Expo
Zytek collected the "Powertrain Innovation of the Year" award in Cologne on Tuesday evening. The honour was bestowed upon Zytek after its innovative hybrid technology proved extremely competitive in both the ALMS, with the GZ09HS hybrid Le Mans Prototype, and in Formula 1 with the KERS system fitted to the McLaren cars.
"Turning the concept of kinetic energy recovery into a race-winning reality was a major breakthrough and Zytek made a vital contribution to this achievement," observed Awards judge and freelance motorsport technology writer Charles Armstrong-Wilson.

Audi R8 LMS Surpasses All Expectations
At the end of the 2009 motorsport season AUDI AG cannot only be pleased with the successful title defense in the DTM. The Audi R8 LMS made a convincing showing in its first racing season as well: The GT3 race sports car developed for customer sport clinched 23 victories and three champion’s titles.
"Actually, 2009 was planned to be a year of learning for the Audi R8 LMS but our expectations were surpassed by far," said Michael Dick, who as Executive Board Member for Technical Development is also responsible for the motorsport commitment of AUDI AG. "After only one year, the R8 is already a GT3 car to be beaten."

Two-Team Tequila Patron Assault On 2010 American Le Mans Series
After a highly-successful championship-winning 2009 season for Patrón Highcroft Racing, American Le Mans Series fans will get to enjoy a triple shot of Patrón in 2010.
Patrón Highcroft Racing will return in 2010 to defend its prototype crown alongside the new team founded by Scott Sharp - Extreme Speed Motorsports.
While Sharp had originally intended to return to Patrón Highcroft Racing alongside his LMP1 championship winning partner, David Brabham, the former Indy 500 polesitter will now concentrate on team ownership - expanding his team's Ferrari 430 GTC assault to a two-car team.
