Massa, Raikkonen Fully Back Ferrari Pull Out From Formula One

On the face of it, Ferrari's race drivers fully support the Scuderia's threat to quit formula one at the end of the season.

Felipe Massa and Kimi Raikkonen both possess contracts for 2010, but official comments attributed to them this week suggest they will be happy to move to an unidentified lesser racing category next year.

"Since I was a child Ferrari has been the synonym for racing for me; that's why I'm convinced that even if the Scuderia is forced to leave formula one, there will be other competitions, where it will be possible to admire the reds on the track," said Massa.

Finn Raikkonen agreed that the proposed rules would ruin F1 and "if that should happen, it would be too bad and I understand that a company like Ferrari is thinking about racing somewhere else".

However, as ever in formula one, scrutiny and analysis - particularly when documents are spoon-fed to the press - is vital.

It is therefore interesting to note comments made a few days ago in Barcelona by Rubens Barrichello, as he compared his situation at Brawn to his six-year tenure until 2005 with Maranello based Ferrari.

"With Ferrari the pressure was enormous," the veteran Brazilian, 36, said in an interview with spox.com. "Often it was even laid out for me what I had to say in interviews.

"I enjoyed my six years there, but sometimes I felt far too pressurised," added Barrichello.
