IndyCar: Danica Patrick To Ganassi ?
Chip Ganassi fielding a third car ?
Those rumors have been fumbling around for years.
But name the driver Danica Patrick, and bring some of her marketing clout, and maybe, just maybe the best known 'girl' in racing won't end up racing in NASCAR.

And so it is this morning, as speedtv.com is reporting that Danica Patrick is 'negotiating' with the legendary IndyCar team instead of staying at Andretti-Green - the team that gave her her first win.
The publication quotes Ganassi Team manager Mike Hull as saying, "We've always entertained having a third driver if we could get the comparable funding that Target provides us. If Danica has something and wants to talk to us, that would be great because I think she's ready to take that next step.
"But I can tell you we haven't spoken to her."
PaddockTalk Perspective
While that may be posturing talk since the drivers typically aren't directly involved in negotiations, their agents are.... It is an interesting rumor.
As for NASCAR.... It may have to wait, but some will recall that at least two NASCAR runs by open-wheel stars have been fielded by Ganassi, and Penske. Franchitti's ended quite badly with Ganassi, while Sam Hornish Jr. is gaining ground slowly in the series. But NASCAR-only teams typically are very wary of this sort of challenge... and rightfully so.
