Moss Scores Maximum At Murray Bridge

Team Shift Motul Suzuki Pro Lite star Matt Moss displayed his championship credentials with another powerful performance in the Australian National Motocross Championship at Murray Bridge.

Moss has been in scintillating form all season and his clean sweep at Murray Bridge means the Suzuki star has won seven of the past eight Pro Lite motos.

After stamping his mark in another dominant qualifying session, Moss was jumped at the start by American import Chris Gosselar. However, in another display of his growing maturity, Moss waited for his opportunity and, by the end of lap four, was in the lead and working on extending it. He controlled the race from that point on, shattering best lap times along the way before finishing nearly 18 seconds clear of Luke George.

In the second moto, Moss was again pushed out of the lead in the opening lap, this time by Mitch Hoad. By the end of lap one Moss had restored his championship credentials and ended up winning by more than 10 seconds.

Moss finished the round with the maximum 50 points and, with the championship entering the home straight, extended his hold on the red plate to 20 points.

Team Shift Motul Suzuki Development squad member Lawson Bopping continued to mine the rich vein of form he has found this year with another strong points haul. Bopping finished the Murray Bridge round with 31 points on the back of a strong performance in the second moto, where he narrowly missed out on second place. Bopping's consistent form saw him consolidate fourth position in the Pro Lites championship, and still with enough races left to secure a coveted podium position.

In the Pro Open title race, Cameron Taylor demonstrated his consistent form once again with two more top-10 finishes to cement seventh position overall in the championship.

Jay Foreman - Team Shift Motul Team Manager:

"That was another great performance by Matt today and one that showed just how much he has improved as a rider this year.

"He missed the holeshot in both motos but kept his composure and worked his way to the lead both times. Then he just controlled the race from there and he's been rewarded for all his hard work by building up a 20-point lead

"Next week we head to Perth and change to the three 15-minute format. With the form he's showing at the moment, we're confident Matt can continue his strong results."

Matt Moss:

"I didn't get the best of starts today but I rode my own race, kept a clear head and I knew I was going to be fast enough. I'm looking forward to next weekend; I've been over in Perth for the past three weeks, riding sand and getting on top of it."
