All Indy Racing League officials will wear pink uniform shirts provided by IZOD on Oct. 10 as statement of solidarity in the fight against breast cancer, and will form a special pink ribbon human chain for a photo to be taken in Victory Lane at 11:30 a.m. on Race Day.

In addition, several teams will extend the platform with their own efforts:

Sarah Fisher Racing: Conducting a multi-faceted initiative, in conjunction with primary sponsor Dollar General and Susan G. Komen for the Cure, to raise money and awareness for breast cancer research.

• Fisher will "go pink" for the race in Miami with a pink race car, pink firesuit and a specially designed pink-themed helmet designed by Dean Ackerman, a fan from West Bloomfield, Mich., whose family has been touched by breast cancer.

• Fisher's pink race gear will also be available for fans to purchase in an online auction that will be held on eBay's philanthropic website, Mission Fish, following the race. Visit http://shop.ebay.com/sarahfisherracing67/m.html to bid on the race items - as well as items from other IndyCar Series drivers, Tiger Woods, Shaquille O'Neal, Peyton Manning, Jimmy Fallon and Jon Stewart - through Oct. 12.

• Firestone Racing will provide specially-made pink Firehawk racing tires for use on Fisher's car in support of the efforts.

• Dollar General has created a commemorative hat that is being sold on at www.dollargeneral.com, benefitting Komen for the Cure. Purchasers of the limited edition hat will also receive a special pink hero card, autographed by Fisher, at no additional cost.

• Fisher is co-hosting at party with New Kids on the Block's Danny Wood on Oct 8 at LIV Nightclub to raise funds for breast cancer research. Consumers can purchase tickets to the public event at http://www.wantickets.com/EventDetail.aspx?e_id=75500

• Fisher has also signed an associate sponsorship with AutoTex PINK, a windshield wiper manufactuer which will give consumers 20 percent off a wiper blade purchase made during October on its website, www.autotexpink.com.

"Sadly, breast cancer touches everyone," Fisher said. "In starting this initiative with Komen, we have really heard some amazing stories from survivors and their family members and everyone involved in this project has really put their whole heart into it. If there really is strength in numbers, we are going to affect a huge blow in the battle against breast cancer."

Newman/Haas/Lanigan Racing: Alex Lloyd's car will feature the No. 40202, which signifies the "text to donate" number for "Stand Up To Cancer." Fans can donate $5 to help raise funds for cancer research by texting the word "Stand" to 40202. In addition, Lloyd's primary sponsor, HER Energy will hold the "Tit for Tat" PSA premiere poolside on Friday, Oct. 9. The party will premiere the first of an innovative new series of Public Service Announcements promoting breast cancer awareness written by actresses Jaime King and Taryn Southern and presented by HER. The first installation of the edgy two-minute shorts combine the talents of King (Sin City), Emily Deschanel (Bones), Alyson Hannigan (How I Met Your Mother), Minka Kelly (Friday Night Lights), Katharine McPhee (American Idol) and director Steve Carr (Paul Blart: Mall Cop, Daddy Day Care) to raise awareness for breast cancer prevention. At the track, HER along with BMGEP, will unveil an Interactive Infield Hospitality Lounge, complete with DJ and entertainment options.
