Christian Bakkerud: Ready For His Debut In The Asian Le Mans Series
The Danish Team Kolles driver, Christian Bakkerud, will debut in the inaugural Asian Le Mans Series round, which will be raced at the Japanese Okayama International Circuit, from the 31st of October to the 1st of November.
The debut will hold two endurance races, each 3 hours long or 500 kilometres. The Danish Team Kolles driver will share his Audi R10 TDi with Audi factory driver Oliver Jarvis.

The Okayama track is 3,7 kilometres long, and has a layout which should suit the fast dieselsportscar very well. The track is well-known from Formula 1; it was the home of the Pacific Grand Prix from 1994 to 1995. Back then the track was named TI Aida Circuit. It is situated on the Japanese island Honshu, 60 kilometres from the city Okayama.
"I am really looking forward to it, "Bakkerud explains. "I have never driven on the track, but Jarvis who will share the car with me, know the track from his time in the Japanese Formula 3 series. On the other hand I know the car, as I have driven it at the 24 Hour of Le Mans and the entire Le Mans Series, so we will help each other."
The 24 year old Dane has raced all over the world for Team Kolles, as he drives both in the European Le Mans Series and the DTM series. But it will be the first time Christian will race in Japan. The race is only one week after the DTM season finale, which will be raced in the upcoming weekend on the German Hockenheimring track.
"It will be a great experience for me, and it is always great fun to drive on a new track. Especially when you drive a car like the R10, so obviously I feel very excited taking part in these two races in Japan. The LMS season has been challenging for us, but now the team know the car inside out, so I feel confident that we will get a great result to cap off our 2009 season."
23 cars and more than 50 drivers will take part in the race at the Okayama track. Team Kolles will race two cars at this event; Christian Bakkerud will share his car with factory driver Oliver Jarvis, while the sister car will be manned by Christijan Albers, Matteo Cressoni and Hideki Noda.
