Talladega Superspeedway Implements Fan Texting Service In Grandstands

Talladega Superspeedway has partnered with InStadiumSolutions ("ISS") to implement a text-message based communication system at their facility. The service debuts next weekend, October 30 – November 1, at Talladega, host to the Mountain Dew 250 fueled by Fred’s NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race and the AMP Energy 500 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race.

The text messaging system allows fans to communicate directly with the racetrack’s command post if assistance is needed in dealing with any special needs inside the facility. The service is being provided at all International Speedway Corporation facilities and successfully debuted in May at Darlington Raceway.

"In our continuing efforts to provide thrilling and safe guest experiences, we are extremely pleased to debut this innovative technology at Talladega this weekend. It further demonstrates our focus on providing a safe, enjoyable and unforgettable race experience for our guests," said Talladega Superspeedway President Rick Humphrey. "ISS’ text messaging system allows fans to communicate instantly with our command center and receive immediate assistance at their location. We are glad to work with ISS on this important customer service initiative for all our race fans."

"InStadiumSolutions is thrilled to partner with Talladega Superspeedway and give their fans the ability to report, within seconds, unruly fans, medical emergencies and any other track issues directly to the venue's command center. We know the Superspeedway is always looking to improve the guest experience and our Fan Text Messaging System will help do just that," said ISS’ Vice President of Sales and Marketing Scott Meyers.

Texting instructions will be placed prominently throughout each facility via static signage and will be regularly broadcast through audio and video public announcements.

Tickets are still available to the Oct. 30 – Nov.1 AMP Energy 500. To purchase, call 1-877-Go2-DEGA or visit www.talladegasuperspeedway.com.

In 2009, Talladega Superspeedway proudly celebrates forty years of the most competitive racing in NASCAR. While the track has seen changes made to the cars that circle its high-banks, the surface that they race on and the grandstands that thousands of fans fill twice a year, one constant remains; Talladega Superspeedway is authentic NASCAR racing at its finest.

AMP Energy presents the Zac Brown Band and Southern Ground Records artists Levi Lowrey, Nic Cowan and Sonia Leigh. The weekend features the AMP Energy 500 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race and the Mountain Dew 250 fueled by Fred’s NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race.
