Moss Takes New 2010 Suzuki To Victory At Geelong

Team Rockstar Motul Suzuki champion Matt Moss delivered a near flawless performance on the all-new 2010 fuel injected Suzuki RM-Z250 in the second round of the 2009 Australasian Super X championship at Skilled Stadium in Geelong, Australia at the weekend.

Moss followed up his first round domination with another maximum points haul in the single final. The Suzuki star was hoping for a longer, more technical track and the Skilled Stadium layout perfectly suited his aggressive riding style and the outstanding performance of the new machine.

He was the fastest qualifier and then won his heat to progress straight to the final. A perfect start allowed him to grab the holeshot, from which point he was never headed on his way to securing 25 valuable championship points.

Moss looks more determined than ever to defend his 2008 Super X title, and after scoring 50 points from a possible 50 in the first two rounds, is well on the way to securing the red plate again. After two rounds Moss has developed a six-point lead over his nearest rival.

Team Shift Motul Suzuki Development rising star Lawson Bopping continued the good form he displayed in Launceston by securing fourth position overall. Bopping's hard riding continues to improve and after two rounds he finds himself just four points outside a podium spot in the championship.

Adam Monea, riding for SP Motorsports / Byrners Suzuki also put in a strong performance securing an eighth place finish and sitting seventh in the championship standings.

The Australasian Super X Championship heads to Perth this weekend for round three.

Matt Moss:

"Everything ran like clockwork this weekend. The new fuel-injected RM-Z250 just gets better and better and I really enjoyed riding a longer and more technical track. I can't wait to get to Perth this weekend and look to build on the great start the team has made."

Jay Foreman - Team Manager:

"That was just about the perfect event. Matt didn't look like getting beaten in qualifying, the heat or the final and we've made the start we wanted to have. Now the challenge is to maintain that level of performance, but with Matt in top form and the new RM-Z250 firing, we've got the tools and the talent."
