ML Motorsports Bringing Attention to the World Craniofacial Foundation

ML Motorsports, a developing team in the NASCAR Nationwide Series, is honoring the boys and girls of the World Craniofacial Foundation (WCF) with a special decal on the hood of the No. 70 Foretravel Chevrolet driven by Shelby Howard this weekend at the 1.5-mile Texas Motor Speedway located in Ft. Worth.

The decal will feature the images of Ahmed and Mohamed Ibrahim, the now famous twins from Cairo, Egypt, who were separated at the head and then cared for under the direction of the WCF headquartered in Dallas. The twins have been featured on Good Morning America and Dateline, in USA Today and other national and local press for their remarkable journey throughout their childhood.

The WCF focuses on craniofacial surgeries, which provide care for children with deformities of the skull and face. The foundation strives to help all people with craniofacial abnormalities, regardless of economic class.

"Our foundation helps around 300 children a year and provides food, travel and lodging for their families," said Sue Blackwood, executive director of the World Craniofacial Foundation. "The mission of the World Craniofacial Foundation is to give help, hope, and healing by uplifting people with craniofacial abnormalities and their families. To see ML Motorsports give back to the foundation and celebrate the lives of Ahmed and Mohamed is really inspiring. I hope all the race fans will be inspired as well and take time to learn more about our foundation."

Mary Louise Miller, owner of ML Motorsports, is proud to be a part of the World Craniofacial Foundation’s mission. Mary Louise’ husband, Dane Miller, is the founder of Biomet, Inc., the organization that helped design and manufacture a skull implant that contributed to successful separation surgery of Ibrahim twins.

The Millers hope that other race teams and race fans will also join the cause and help contribute to this noble organization in any way possible.

"It’s a great honor for me to use my race team to help a great cause and bring awareness to the goals of the World Craniofacial Foundation," said Mary Louise Miller. "It has been a pleasure to bring joy to the children and they are held near and dear to my heart. I hope others get involved as well to help these children in need. We’re hoping to bring more attention to the WCF by racing up front, but even if we don’t, the kids are still winners."

ML Motorsports will also be inviting the children from the World Craniofacial Foundation to experience the sights and sounds of NASCAR at Texas Motor Speedway and enjoy all the thrills of the sport.
