NHRA: Sponsors Congratulate Funny Car Champion Robert Hight

First time NHRA Funny Car champion Robert Hight has been receiving daily congratulatory e-mails, texts and phone calls since clinching the 16th NHRA world title for John Force Racing at the 45th annual Auto Club NHRA Finals in Pomona last Saturday. In today’s edition of USA Today Hight’s sponsors join in the ongoing celebration running a full-page color ad in the Sports section. The ad represents Hight’s achievement as well as the collective achievement of his entire Auto Club Ford Mustang team.

"Winning the championship has been a roller coaster of emotions not just for me but for our sponsors as well. They always had confidence in me, Jimmy and my team. They have been congratulating me since last weekend but I was blown away when I saw the USA Today ad. I can’t thank the Automobile Club of Southern California, Ford Racing, Castrol, Mac Tools, BrandSource and Sanyo enough for giving us this kind of recognition," said Hight before departing for the Ford 300 and Ford 400 in Homestead.

Hight will be the guest of Ford Racing at this weekend’s NASCAR event where he will serve as the Grand Marshal of Saturday’s Ford 300.
