The team returns to The Glen with a new set of drivers, with Ryan Dalziel and Marc Goossens piloting the No. 90 Corvette DP.

"It's time to go back Stateside to be back with Visit Florida Racing and Ryan Dalziel," said Goossens, who competed in the 24 Hours of Le Mans in France and visited the Goodwood Festival of Speed in England the past two weekends. "This is one of the races in the Patrón Endurance Cup, and Watkins Glen is a fairly demanding track. But I strongly believe that our Visit Florida drivers and team are ready for the challenge."

Corvette DPs 1-2 In Detroit, Taylor Brothers Capture Chevrolet Sports Car Classic Victory

Faced with a restart amidst heavy traffic midway through Saturday’s Chevrolet Sports Classic Presented by the Metro Detroit Chevy Dealers, Jordan Taylor passed three cars on his way to the lead. That proved to be the key to give the No. 10 Konica Minolta Corvette DP its third victory in four years at the Raceway at Belle Isle Park.

Joined by older brother Ricky, the Taylors scored their second IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship victory at the circuit, backing up their triumph in 2014. Jordan Taylor also had a pair of Rolex Series triumphs at the 2.360-mile temporary circuit, including the 2013 victory in the No. 10 Corvette DP with then-co-driver Max Angelelli.

Action Express Racing’s TOTAL Pole Award winner Christian Fittipaldi led the opening 26 laps before pitting under caution shortly before the one-hour mark of the 100-minute event, when he turned the No. 5 Mustang Sampling Corvette DP over to Joao Barbosa.

The timing of the caution saw a group of lapped GT Daytona (GTD) class cars and a pair of Prototype Challenge (PC) cars ahead of the lead Prototypes. When the green flag waved with 48 minutes remaining, Jordan Taylor threaded his way past Barbosa and the two PC cars to take both the class and overall lead - which he held for the remainder of the event.

Corvette DPs Sweep Front Two Rows For Chevrolet Sports Car Classic

Christian Fittipaldi led the "Bowtie Brigade" to a sweep of the front two rows in Friday’s IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship qualifying. Fittipaldi captured his second consecutive TOTAL Pole Award at the Raceway at Belle Isle Park in qualifying for Saturday’s Chevrolet Sports Car Grand Prix Presented by the Metro Detroit Chevy Dealers.

"To be on the pole here in ‘Chevy Town’ is very special," said Fittipaldi after taking his third consecutive TOTAL Pole on a street course. In addition to his two poles at Detroit, he was the fastest qualifier on the streets of Long Beach earlier this season. "It’s not necessarily just this place that makes us successful. I think we have a very good car on the street courses and the road courses. Some days it comes easy, and other days you have to work for it. Today we worked for it. Now we hope to capitalize on it tomorrow."

Audi well prepared for Nurburgring 24 Hours

The teams of Audi Sport customer racing are entering the 24-hour race at the Nürburgring thoroughly prepared. In the final Top-30 qualifying, the two best Audi R8 LMS cars clinched grid positions in the top ten while all six teams completed their programs for preparation.

The Eifel showed its whimsical side on Friday. A thunderstorm in the afternoon gave the teams a foretaste of a weekend with a changeable weather forecast. The track that was still partially wet in the final qualifying session made for tricky conditions. The best driver from Audi Sport customer racing was Frank Stippler. In his home round, the 41-year-old pro from Bad Münstereifel achieved the fifth-best time in the Audi R8 LMS for Phoenix Racing. The Dutchman Robin Frijns clinched grid position ten for Belgian Audi Club Team WRT, trailed by René Rast (Audi Sport Team Phoenix) in position 16, Pierre Kaffer (Audi Sport Team WRT) in 22nd place following a puncture, and Marc Basseng (montaplast by Land-Motorsport) in position 25. Christian Mamerow (Twin Busch Motorsport), after an accident, only took 30th place.
