Bentley Team Htp Wins In Moscow


(Moscow, Russia / Klettwitz, Germany, 6th Juli 2015)

Bentley Team HTP claimed the first victory for Bentley in the Blancpain Sprint Series at the fourth round of the championship at Moscow Raceway. Maximilian Buhk/Vincent Abril celebrated their maiden victory in the Bentley Continental GT3, while Jules Szymkowiak/Max van Splunteren claimed the win in the Silver Cup reserved for young drivers in a second Bentley. At the same time, Bentley Team HTP were successful at the ADAC GT Masters at Lausitzring. In a heated battle in temperatures up to 38 degrees, both Bentley Continental GT3 claimed points in the two races.

1) The 2015 East Coast Bullbars Australian V8 Ute Racing Series will return to the Townsville Street Circuit for the sixth time. The V8 Utes were at the inaugural round in 2009 and in 2010, 2011, 2013 and 2014.

2) Lap Record:
George “Slick” Miedecke set the first lap record in a V8 Ute at the Sucrogen Townsville 500, however Ford rival Jack Elsegood snatched it by the end of the weekend (Race 2 2009) and held it for two years. Reigning V8 Ute Champion Ryal Harris broke the 2009 record in 2011 in Race 1 in a time of 1:28.2930, Kim Jane broke that record in 2013 in a time of 1:28.2339.

Amy Ruman's Dominance Continues With Victory At BIR


Amy Ruman, in the No. 23 McNichols Company Chevrolet Corvette, captured her fifth TA class victory of the year with a win in the Ryan Companies Independence Day Classic at Brainerd International Raceway, overcoming class traffic, less than ideal track conditions, and a strong challenge from Cliff Ebben during the final length of the race. Ruman started the day in second position behind polesitter Doug Peterson, in the No. 87 3Dimensional.com Chevrolet Corvette, but took the lead on only the fifth lap of the race and never looked back.

1. This year’s Castrol EDGE Townsville 400 returns to its original format with a pair of 200-kilometre races, but it’s an event where winners don’t necessarily need to start at the front of the field to win.

Only once – on Saturday in 2010 – has the car that started on pole position gone on to win the race and 53.8% of Townsville winners have started beyond the first two rows of the grid. Cars starting on the front row of the grid in Townsville have won just three of the 13 races held there.
