Improved LADA Gives Huffy Optimism For Argentine Assault


Argentina’s Autodromo Termas de Rio Hondo is the next port of call for the 2014 FIA World Touring Car Championship (WTCC) and former World Champion Rob Huff goes to South America (2-3 August) with heightened optimism for his LADA Sport LUKOIL team.
Nestled on the outskirts of Termas de Rio Hondo in the province of Santiago del Estero, the 4.8km circuit was officially inaugurated in 2008 and was featured on the WTCC calendar for the very first time last year.

NASA Championships presented by Toyo Tires Headed for Road Atlanta


The National Auto Sport Association's (NASA) ninth annual NASA Championships presented by Toyo Tires is preparing for the first of two nationwide events. The first of the twin bill will be the Eastern States Championships to run at Road Atlanta, Aug. 29-31. Going from a single national championship event to a double, the NASA Western States Championships will take the green flag at Sonoma Raceway, Nov. 7-9.

Taggart Autosport and the No. 7 Porsche 911 GT3 R will return to GT-A competition in the Pirelli World Challenge this weekend at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. The DTM will line up for the second half of the season next weekend at Austria’s Spielberg circuit.
The track: At 4.236 kilometres, the Red Bull Ring is the third-longest circuit on the 2014 DTM racing calendar. The race is staged over 47 laps which equates to a distance of 203.322 kilometres – the longest of the whole DTM season.

Cheshire's Andy Meyrick drove a series of impeccable stints to help ensure a solid finish for the Bentley Continental GT3 in Bentley's first return to 24-hour racing since winning Le Mans in 2003. Andy, Guy Smith and Steven Kane had a difficult race but managed to overcome bad luck to cross the line ninth in the class and 13th overall as the 24 Hours of Spa in Belgium drew to a close.

Liberty Lake, Washington native Max Mällinen scored his first victories in open-wheel competition in style, sweeping two SCCA Majors races at Elkhart Lake’s Road America in his No. 10 Swan Motorsports Spectrum/Honda. The 16-year-old junior at Central Valley High School was able to convert two outside front row starting spots into two first-place drives during the Cat Majors at Road America.
