Blancpain Endurance Series Season Finale Full Of Highlights For Audi Sport Customer Racing


In GT racing, Audi will be celebrating the finale of the Blancpain Endurance Series on September 21 with several attractions. The 1,000-kilometer race on the Nürburgring will not only be about the decision between the four Audi drivers at the top of the standings and their immediate rivals. In the closing event of the season, the Swiss Ski World Cup winner Didier Cuche will also be celebrating his debut in the Audi R8 LMS ultra. At the same time, Audi will be looking at a four-digit number of racing commitments of the successful customer sport program in the Eifel.

Rob Bell Retains GT Asia Series Lead After Tough Sepang Race


Rob Bell headed back to Malaysia last weekend for the fifth round of the GT Asia Series. The McLaren GT factory driver is piloting the Clearwater Racing McLaren MP4-12C GT alongside Hiroshi Hamaguchi this season and with two top tens at the Sepang circuit, with fourth and seventh place finishes, the duo held on to their lead in the Drivers Championship.

Long Weekend for Paffett at Lausitzring


The 2014 DTM round at Lausitzring last weekend was a tough drive for 2013 race winner, Gary Paffett.

With only three races to go before the end of the season, Lausitzring was to be the circuit that would potentially witness the crowning of the 2014 Driver Champion as Marco Wittmann had a 64 point lead and was hoping this would be his chance to snatch victory. It was also the first time in 20 years that race fans would get to watch both cars and motorbikes at the same event as SUPERBIKE*IDM was holding its penultimate round of the 2014 championship on the same weekend.

M1 Racing's Walt Bowlin of Tarpon Springs, Fla., used the 2014 season finale of the SCCA Pirelli World Challenge series on Friday and Saturday at Miller Motorsports Park as preparation for a full effort in that series in 2015. His main objective was simply to gain experience in this form of racing, and he came away with an eighth-place finish on Friday and a ninth on Saturday in the GT-A class with his Tampa Bay Jaw Surgery Centers Audi R8 LMS ultra in twin 50-minute races.
