Edams-RENAULT, Round 1, Beijing

The speed was there but no results for e.dams Renault

The final corner turned into a nightmare for the e.dams Renault team. Nicolas Prost on pole had led the race from the moment the lights went out, and he was deprived of victory in the inaugural race in the Formula E Championship just a few metres from the finishing line following a spectacular collision with Nick Heidfeld. It was a very disappointing conclusion to a day during which the e.dams Renault driver had dominated both qualifying and the race. On the other hand, his team-mate Sébastien Buemi, who was hit by a raft of problems, did not see the chequered flag due to gearbox failure. The day didn't get off to the best of starts. Buemi had a couple of minor offs in both free practice sessions. However, the team was able to repair his car in time for qualifying, but as the gearbox broke on one of his two machines the Swiss knew that he would be able to do only half the race. Nonetheless, he qualified in ninth place. Fortunately, for e.dams Renault Nicolas Prost showed both his talent and the speed of the car by clinching a brilliant pole position.

Dams, WSR, Round 7, Hungaroring

DAMS emphasised the importance of fielding two world-class drivers at the top level of junior single-seater racing last weekend in Budapest (September 12-14) where Norman Nato put his fair share of bad luck behind him to claim a second Formula Renault 3.5 Series victory of the season. With the Le Mans-based squad's championship leader, Carlos Sainz, finishing fourth and sixth at the Hungaroring, Nato's perfectly timed win helped him fend off his team-mate's chief title rival, Roberto Merhi, who is now just 16 points adrift of the Spaniard. Victory for the French outfit also extended their lead in the Teams' standings to 48.

Six-Way Title Scrap Set For F4 Battle At Donington Park

The BRDC F4 Championship returns to Donington Park this weekend with the title battle the closest it has been all season.

With six races remaining this year, just 13 points separate the top-three drivers in the standings. Championship leader George Russell had a difficult weekend last time out at Brands Hatch, as did championship challenger Raoul Hyman. This allowed Russell’s Lanan Racing team-mate, Arjun Maini, to capitalise with a win and two further podiums in Kent, taking second place from Hyman in the standings and getting within nine points of Russell.
