After intense deliberations, Aaron Telitz of Birchwood, Wis., and Michai Stephens of Evanston, Ill., today have been named as winners of prestigious Team USA Scholarships for 2014. The Eurocup Clio Championship roared back into action last weekend for rounds 5 and 6 of the series. This time the venue was former F1 circuit, Paul Ricard, which is set high in the hills in Southern France overlooking the Mediterranean. For Alex Morgan it was his first time at the circuit in a Clio, and 6 years had passed since he last visited when completing a test day in Formula Renault. Despite the lack of testing, Morgan was confident of good finishes in what was to be a hotly contested battle.

After an almost perfect weekend the Sarthe-based team and its Spanish driver have reaffirmed their role as boss in the FR 3.5 Series. Carlos Sainz racked up his sixth and seventh victories of the season plus his seventh pole position. His lead over his nearest rival, Roberto Merhi, is now 44 points before the final showdown in Jerez on home turf. His team-mate Norman Nato was again hit with bad luck coming away from Paul Ricard with a tenth place as his only reward. In the teams' title chase DAMS leads its immediate pursuer by 66 points. Thus the French squad is looking forward to the final round brimful of confidence.

I.S.R. Racing ended their run with a 6th place at Circuit Paul Ricard, in race 2 of the penultimate round for the 2014 World Series Renault 3.5. Malaysian racer Jazeman Jaafar delivered a promising qualifying effort in the morning by scoring the fourth place, and then got the job done during the race, rounding out the top-5.

Draco Racing Gets Good Vibes In Paul Ricard Race 2


Race 2 for the penultimate round of the 2014 World Series Renault 3.5 has been a tough one for Draco Racing at Circuit Paul Ricard, although the team got a promising feedback for the closing event of the season at Jerez de la Frontera. Both Luca Ghiotto and Pietro Fantin were off to a promising qualifying performance but their efforts were hampered when a red flag cut the session short in its closing stages. Then, after putting together two brilliant starts, they were both slowed down by a melee at the third corner.
After settling for 12th in qualy, Ghiotto was pushed off-track and found himself fighting with old tires at the back of the pack, waiting for the pit-stop to come. Then after a quick tire change, he recovered well, showing the same potential that could have handed him a top-5 position on the grid.

This morning has been taken the second race of the penultimate meeting of the SEAT León Eurocup in Monza’s circuit. Jordi Oriola has started 10th but he could climb some positions in the race to the 7th position.
