Pro Stock driver Shane Gray and his Gray Motorsports crew have resumed a position as a team contending for race wins this year, and Gray and his group are optimistic about their chances for success at a brand new racetrack on NHRA's Mello Yello Drag Racing Series tour. This weekend, as they roll through the gates at New England Dragway for the Inaugural NHRA New England Nationals, Gray will be aiming for his first win of the season in a typically methodical, steady approach.

2013 NHRA: B.R.A.K.E.S. Top Fuel Team Victim Of Mechanical Miscue In Bristol
Four years ago, the National Hot Rod Association mandated a new safety device in the nitromethane-burning classes of Top Fuel and Funny Car which would automatically shut of the fuel pumps and deploy the racecar’s braking parachutes should their 10,000-horsepower engines experience a backfire or other catastrophic failure—a rule which was instituted following the fatal crash of veteran Funny Car driver Scott Kalitta in Englishtown, NJ in 2008.
