2016 NHRA: John Force And Robert Hight Recap 2016 Season
The chase for the 17th NHRA Funny Car championship may have come up short for John Force, but the 147-time winner won four races, made a run at sweeping the Western Swing and was in half of the final rounds of the Countdown to the Championship. The winningest driver in NHRA history wrapped up the season in 4th place in the Mello Yello Funny Car point standings. Force’s teammate and JFR president Robert Hight powered the Auto Club Chevrolet Camaro SS team to his third win at the Gatornationals and his third consecutive Traxxas Shootout Final round during the Chevrolet Performance U.S. Nationals before racing to a Top Ten finish. Hight continued his streak of winning at least one race, qualifying No. 1 and setting Top Speed every year of his professional career with his 2016 performance.

This year, Operation Appreciation returns to Kuwait to visit the troops during the last week of November. 2016 NHRA: Courtney and Brittany Force Reflect on 2016 and Look Ahead to 2017
Courtney Force and Brittany Force both ended the 2016 Mello Yello Drag Racing Series seasons with highlights and career successes. The two daughters of legendary driver John Force both finished No. 6 in their respective Funny Car and Top Fuel categories. Each driver won races, led the points and was in contention for the NHRA Mello Yello Championship. They sat down recently to reflect on the 2016 season and to look ahead at 2017.
2016 NHRA: Angie Smith Announces Plans To Race A Buell V-Twin In Pro Stock Motorcycle In 2017
Popular Pro Stock Motorcycle rider Angie Smith has announced plans to compete on a Matt Smith Racing Buell V-Twin in 2017 and beyond. One of only 16 women in the NHRA's 65-year history to have won a drag race at the professional level, Smith is the wife of two-time world champion Matt Smith, who will continue to serve as her crew chief and compete himself.
2017 LUCAS OIL DRAG RACING SERIES SCHEDULE RELEASED: For the 16th season, the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series will compete at top flight NHRA Drag Racing facilities across the country for the 2017 season. The upcoming 2017 schedule will feature 45 divisional events with a minimum of six in each of the seven divisions. There will also be 26 regional events featuring the 260-mph Top Alcohol Dragster and Top Alcohol Funny Car classes. "The NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing series is the very best of sportsman racing, which highlights the foundation of the NHRA," said NHRA president Peter Clifford. "This series allows fans to enjoy drag racing competition at many levels, often showcasing future stars in classes where many pro racers began their careers. We’re extremely thankful for everything the Lucas family does to support this series and are excited to see another great season of the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series in 2017."
2016 NHRA: Bowman, Maggio Score Upset Wins at JEGS Performance SCSN XII
Mike Bowman (Precision Turbo Pro Mod) and Mike Maggio (Flying A Outlaw Pro Mod) scored upset victories Sunday night in the finals of the JEGS Performance Street Car Super Nationals XII at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speeday. Bowman, who has raced every SCSN event but one, topped No. 1 qualifier and fellow NHRA Pro Mod veteran Sidnei Frigo from the No. 9 qualifying spot. The Oak Hills, Calif-resident laid down a pass of 5.788 seconds at 259.06 mph.
