2010 Iowa: Dodge NASCAR Nationwide Qualifying Quotes

BRAD KESELOWSKI (No. 22 Discount Tire Dodge Charger) Qualified 4th "Not a bad lap for just getting inside the car for the first time this weekend. It looks like Kyle (Busch) put down a pretty good lap; we weren’t that far off of his pace. That’s the cool thing about my Discount Tire Dodge guys is that they bring great racecars to the track every week. We lost both practices yesterday due to rain so the first time that I was able to sit in the car was for my qualifying lap. We’ll keep fighting. I think that we’ll have something for (Kyle) in the race. The track should cool down a bunch and that should help us a bit."

WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO DO TO BE GOOD AT IOWA SPEEDWAY? "It’s the same everywhere, you have to bring fast race cars and execute. It sets up to be a transition race with us going from day to night and the conditions will change quite a bit. I’m confident that Paul (Wolfe, crew chief) and the guys have a great game plan. This is a fun race track. The fans here are awesome and hopefully we can put on a great show for them tonight."

JUSTIN ALLGAIER (No. 12 Verizon Wireless Dodge Charger) Qualified 8th "It’s been a long day that’s for sure. We lost our backup car in the first practice session when we got caught up in somebody’s mess this morning. We didn’t get the laps that we needed to in practice and one of the things that we weren’t able to do is a qualifying run. I felt like we could have been better than we showed in qualifying, we just didn’t get the lap that we wanted. We’ll have a decent starting spot. We were pretty good in the race last year and should settle in the race pretty fast tonight."

HOW MUCH DID GOING TO THE BACKUP CAR CHANGE YOUR APPROACH TO QUALIFYING? "Going to the backup car definitely changes things. We lost half of our practice and that really makes it tough. The biggest thing was to conserve, conserve, conserve and make sure that you bring the car home. We just went out and made sure that we got a good lap and got ourselves in the field."
