2010 Chicagoland: Chris Fontaine NASCAR Truck Race Recap

Chris Fontaine went to Chicagoland Speedway with the goal of learning, and he came away with a 13th place finish, tying his NCWTS record he set last year at Gateway International Raceway.

Fontaine had qualified the Glenden Enterprises #84 Chevy Silverado 14th fastest to start the EnjoyIllinois.com 225, tying his qualifying performance at Pocono Raceway in July.

He ran in the teens for the majority of the 154 lap race and got as high as seventh position during the race.

Fontaine ran in the top 15 for half of the race, ran in the top ten for most of the last third.

"If the last caution had not have come out, we would've gotten our first top ten. We were running ninth, and then the caution came out, and on the last restart we all got piled up and I lost a couple of spots," Fontaine said.

He ranked eleventh in number of passes during the race with 17.

Of the 14 NCWTS races Chris Fontaine and the Glenden Enterprises Team have run in 2009 and 2010 to date, they have finished 17th or better in eight of them.

"We finally got to run up front, and I learned a lot about the air. We made a few adjustments during the race and made the truck better and we were able to get into the top ten," Fontaine said, adding,"We are all learning a lot and every race we expect to do better. We definitely improved this race and we will improve on the next one."

The next NCWTS race Chris Fontaine and the Glenden Enterprises team plan to run will be the Mountain Dew 250 fueled by Fred's at Talladega Superspeedway on October 30, 2010. The race will be televised on SPEED TV at 3:30 PM ET.
