It's been 18-year-old Alberto Cerqui to start the INTERNATIONAL SUPERSTARS SERIES weekend in the best possible way at Misano. While two BMW M3 E92 racecars led the way, Maserati didn't end up that far: 4-time FIA GT World Champion Andrea Bertolini scored third as he came back on-track after his sensational double win at Donington Park. Stefano Gabellini took fourth place for Team BMW Italia, as he looks forward to raise the game at his home venue. A Jaguar (driven by Francesco Sini) and a Mercedes (with Michela Cerruti behind the wheel) rounded out the top-6, as a further proof of the great performance balance between the nine brands entered. Among the racers set to join tomorrow for practice, the Audi camp will feature the return of Gianni Morbidelli, while Championship leader Luigi Ferrara will join the action aboard his CAAL Racing Mercedes. As an additional note, Lexus finally joined the SUPERSTARS ranks, with Diego Romanini turning his first laps on the brand-new IS-F racecar fielded by MRT by Nocentini.

In the INTERNATIONAL GTSPRINT SERIES, the AF Corse duo of Giuseppe CirĂ²-Gaetano Ardagna Perez (Ferrari 430) topped the earliest charts, followed by the same-powered Vittoria Competizioni combo, featuring GTS2 and overall championship leaders Max Mugelli and Andrea Palma. The 430 racecar of youngster Michael Dalle Stelle (Racing Team Edil Cris) trailed the top-2 by a small margin, followed by the AF Corse Ferrari 458, currently leading in GTS3 with Fabio Mancini and Niki Cadei. Flavio Pierleoni led the GTS Cup charts, driving a Ferrari 430 for Team Malucelli.
