Throughout this season, Mazda Canada, in collaboration with CTCC, will invite guest media drivers behind the wheel of the #2 Mazda2 B-Spec Media Race Car. B-Spec is a new class being introduced this year in CTCC as an entry level category. Automotive and motorsports journalists and celebrities will be invited to share their experiences of the excitement and challenges of racing the new Mazda2 B-Spec Media Race Car with a full field and three classes of race cars.
The first guest racer during the Victoria Day Speedfest is Mark Hacking. As a professional automotive journalist, Mark currently writes in several publications such as: Air Canada onAir, Car Advice Australia, enRoute, The Globe and Mail, Performance Racing News and many more. Also, Mark has many years of experience as a diversified race car driver and journalist. From karting to four Targa Newfoundland experiences, Mark also has had the opportunity to get behind the wheel of several high performance cars in his career. We look forward to reading about his impressions of the Mazda2 in B-Spec trim.
“Mazda is thrilled to be partnering with CTCC to showcase the new B Spec showroom stock racing series,” said Don Romano, Mazda Canada Inc. “The Mazda2 offers prospective racers an affordable, easy to maintain, great-handling race car, and we’re excited to have Mark Hacking demonstrate its capabilities this weekend.”
“I’ve been hoping to race in the CTCC for years now and I’m thrilled to finally get my chance with the Mazda2 B-Spec Media Race Car,” said Mark Hacking. “I’ve recently driven the road-going version and it’s a really fun little car, so I can’t wait to see what the modifications bring to the table.”
“This is an exciting opportunity for CTCC”, said John Bondar, President of CTCC. “I can’t wait to see how the different personalities will do behind the wheel of the Mazda2 B-Spec Media Race Car.”
