2012 Edmonton: IndyCar Race Results - Castroneves, Chevrolet Win!

In front of 49,000, Penske IndyCar driver Helio Castroneves and his No. 3 Chevrolet has won the 2012 Edmonton Indy at the Edmonton Airport Circuit in Canada. For Castroneves, it is his second win of the 2012 IndyCar season and 21st of his IndyCar career. It was also his 27th career major open-wheel win.
The win moves Castroneves into second in the championship - 23 points back - with four races to go.
Takuma Sato and his No. 15 hounded Castroneves all the way to the end, but was unable to get past to capture his first IndyCar victory. It was Sato's second podium of the season, and second of his IndyCar career.
Penske IndyCar driver Will Power and his No. 12 finished third for his fourth podium finish of 2012 and 26th of his IndyCar career.
Graham Rahal and Alex Tagliani would finish fourth and fifth respectively.
2012 IndyCar points leader Ryan Hunter-Reay started 11th, and finished seventh.
The race was run caution free for the first time this season, and first since Texas of 2011 during the second race at the event.
Next up for the IndyCar series will be the Mid-Ohio circuit in two weeks time.
