Michigan Men Brian & Brian, Keselowski & Campbell Return

Michigan Men Brian & Brian, Keselowski & Campbell Return For Berlin ARCA 200 Short Track Classic Saturday

This Saturday, next-generation Michigan racers Brian Keselowski and Brian Campbell will converge on the tiny town of Marne, Michigan, where the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards is preparing for the 25th running of the Berlin ARCA 200 presented by Hantz Group.

Keselowski (Rochester Hills, Mich.) made history with back-to-back ARCA victories at Berlin in 2006 and 2007, joining his father Bob Keselowski as an ARCA winner on the historic western Michigan short track, thereby representing the only father-son ARCA winners at Berlin.

Brian put forth an all-out campaign through friends and family to make the opportunity a reality.

"It means a lot to me to have my biggest fans here in my corner like when I was a kid, especially at Berlin where we've won before," Brian said.

"We've won two out of three at Berlin, and I see no reason why we can't do it again."

For the Keselowski clan, it truly is a family affair. Bob, the ARCA National Champion in 1989, will serve as Brian's crew chief while Brian's mother Kay will be returning as spotter.

The Keselowski family pulled out all the stops to get the car ready for competition.

"The support from our fans who signed up to be on our car and companies which have stepped up to help get us here have been great. Hopefully we can do well and keep them on our car for a lot more races down the road."

Diversified Documents will be Brian's primary sponsor this weekend, along with associate sponsors Full House Racing, Western Reserve Asphalt, Inc., Messina Trucking, Carolina Basset Hound Rescue, Comfort Suites-Grand Rapids North, Drive Train Specialists, and all the Keselowski fans who donated dollars to have their name on the sides of the No. 29 Brian Keselowski Racing Dodge.

Local Favorite Campbell Coming with Kimmel Racing Assist

Brian Campbell (Wyoming, Mich.), the defending late model champion at Berlin, will be vying for his career-first ARCA victory in the No. 68 Chevrolet, and he's got some good coaching on the sidelines to help him get there. Kimmel Racing, which fields ARCA cars for Will Kimmel and Korbin Forrister in ARCA competition, will serve as Campbell's crew for the race. Eight-time Cometic Crew Chief of the Year Bill Kimmel will head the program as crew chief. The car was prepared specifically for this race out of Kimmel's race shop in Clarksville, Indiana.

"Having the opportunity to work with Kimmel Racing is a big thing," Campbell said.

"It's also a family thing for me with my dad, the Dewitts and Mike Bursley."

Don DeWitt leases the track and owns the car, and Campbell drives for Bursley in late model competition. Bursley is also DeWitt's son-in-law and the track's general manager.

There is also a huge assist from Brian's father Fred Campbell, a 10-time late model track champion at Berlin, and winner of the Berlin ARCA 200 in 2002.

"My dad will be doing our tires for the race. He loves it; he's our tire guy. I know that's one part of our racecar that won't have a malfunction."

Although Brian Campbell has a lot of seat time at Berlin, he sees that as no real advantage.

"I think it pretty well evens itself out. I don't race these (ARCA) cars. I'm racing their cars on my track, so it evens out."

Campbell won the Menards Pole Award presented by Ansell for the Berlin ARCA 200 in 2010, but an accident relegated him to a disappointing 23rd-place finish. Campbell also finished 14th after qualifying second at Berlin in 2011.

"I know we can win there; we've certainly done it before, just not in an ARCA car. We just need to seal the deal. Racing for family and adding Kimmel Racing to the mix just makes it all that much better."

The 200-lap race at Berlin begins at 8:30 p.m. Eastern, with live audio coverage and live timing and scoring featured on ARCARacing.com. Frank Kimmel is the leading winner at the track, with three victories (1999, 2003, 2004).

ARCA Celebrating 60th Anniversary Season
2012 is the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards' 60th Anniversary Season, featuring 20 races at 18 tracks. The complete 2012 event schedule is available at ARCARacing.com.

A release issued Tuesday by ARCA Communications indicated the incorrect sale price for Berlin ARCA 200 tickets at Menards stores in Michigan. The tickets are selling for $15 -discounted from the at-track price of $25 - through Friday.

The ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards has crowned an ARCA national champion each year since its inaugural season in 1953, and has toured over 200 race tracks in 26 states since its inception. The series has tested the abilities of drivers and race teams over the most diverse schedule of stock car racing events in the world, visiting tracks ranging from 0.375 mile to 2.66 miles in length, on both paved and dirt surfaces as well as a left- and right-turn road course in its most recent season. This year, the series visited Alabama's Mobile International Speedway and Minnesota's Elko Speedway for the first time.
