Andy Scott Brings Iconic Peugeot 306 To Rallycross De Loheac

Rallycross de Loheac 2012 debutant Andy Scott will entertain the tens of thousands of spectators attending arguably Europe’s biggest rallycross event with special demonstration laps aboard the most successful Supercar in recent history, his Peugeot 306.

The iconic French manufactured car was built by Will Gollop and his G-Tech company in 1993. First raced in 1994, it was one of the first ‘new breed’ Group A-based Rallycross Supercars following the change in international technical regulations in 1992.

A double MSA British Rallycross Championship-winning car in 1996 and 1997 in the hands of Gollop, and again in 2007 with Ollie O’Donovan, the vehicle has brought every one of its masters countless race wins and championship spoils.

Taking over ownership from O’Donovan, Scott took charge of the reputed Peugeot 306 as part of his 2011 MSA British Rallycross campaign, adding more victories to the car’s outstanding log book en route to the Vice-Champion crown.

Scott will take the wheel of his faithful chariot once again at the Circuit de Loheac for the delight of the French fans, after the conclusion of the first round heats on Saturday and after the second stage battles on Sunday. (All times provisional and subject to change).

Enthusiasts can also get a closer look at the Peugeot 306 which will be displayed pride of place in the Scott Trawlers paddock area throughout the weekend.

“I simply couldn’t pass up the opportunity to put the Peugeot 306 back on its native home soil on my Rallycross de Loheac debut. Driving such a fantastic French car in front of an enthusiastic and patriotic French crowd at the biggest rallycross event in the country has got to be a very good day.” said Scott.

“Steeped in history, it’s one of the most successful Supercars of the recent era. I’m passionate about the 306 and always enjoy driving it. Thanks to Tony Bardy Motorsport, the car is pristine and immaculately maintained, so we hope the French fans will love the chance to see this iconic car up close. It’s a pleasure to work with the race organisers to stage the demonstration laps and hopefully give the crowds a real treat.”
