The Series competes exclusively on Goodyear Eagle bias-ply tires. The tires Goodyear supplies the Canadian Tire Series come from the same line the tiremaker manufactures for NASCAR’s K&N Pro Series East and West.
Shepherd got the lead with less than a lap remaining in the 300-lap race around the 1/3-mile oval but he won by a substantial .729 of a second victory margin. He led laps 140-156 and the final two.
Andrew Ranger took second after starting 10th, followed by Noel Dowler (started 15th), Steve Mathews (first) and Dexter Stacey (19th). Mathews posted the quickest lap during time trials, averaging 84.162 mph.
D.J. Kennington leads the series standings with 422 points. Ranger is next with 408.
