NASCAR Number: 4 (Sept. 21, 2012)
By Reid Spencer, NASCAR Wire Service
4: The number of times in 25 events since 1999 that a driver has won a NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway from a starting position outside the top 25. The most recent instance was June 29, 2008, when Kurt Busch won from 26th on the grid. Coincidentally, Busch qualified 32nd and won the July 2004 event at the Magic Mile, the deepest start in the field for a race winner since Jeff Burton triumphed from a record-low 38th in 1999. As difficult as it is to pass at Loudon, it makes sense to look to the front of the grid for possible race winners on Sunday.
