TRG/Adobe Road Launch 'A Taste Of The Race' In New York City


The Racer's Group and Adobe Road Winery hit one of the world's most vibrant markets, New York City, next week with four lifestyle events over four evenings enroute to the Rolex Grand-Am Series finale at Lime Rock Park, September 29. The series of events, entitled "A Taste of the Race," includes a gallery grand premier featuring Porsche racing photos, a red carpet reception targeted toward a celebrity and fashion elite crowd with a generous charity twist, and a pair of wine dinners at two of Manhattan's most exclusive restaurants.

"We, indeed, have cut a unique path in the lifestyle marketing world," said team and winery owner Kevin Buckler. "Our wines have just taken off, and the race team is as solid as ever. And it seems that every market we roll into, we find more and more people who are fans of both. New York City is a great place to showcase how North America's most successful Porsche sports car team over the last 20 years and one of Northern California's hottest wineries combine to appeal to an audience that is truly passionate about both."

The first event of the week is September 24 at Splashlight Studios, one of New York's top photo studios located in SoHo. Principal Benoit Lagarde will unveil for the first time his collection of auto and racing photography that he has assembled over the years. A portion of the exhibit, which will run until the end of October, features TRG at some of America's top road course venues. The evening's grand premier will also feature Adobe Road's award-winning wines.

The next evening, September 25, one of the world's largest Porsche Design stores hosts a private reception and auction to benefit "Free Arts NYC." Targeting the racing, fashion, celebrity, media, entrepreneurial crowd, the evening will feature pairings of Adobe Road wine with celebrity chef Angelo Sosa's culinary offerings. Guests will also have the opportunity to get up-close-and-personal with a Porsche 911 GT3 Cup race car and have their photo taken. Items featured in the silent auction will be an actual TRG race car hood autographed by Buckler and other celebrities; Porsche Design P'8478 Aviator Sunglasses; an autographed Adobe Road magnum; racing photos taken by Benoit Lagarde; an autographed copy of "The Racing Heart" by noted author Ava Roosevelt; a helicopter tour over Manhattan; and tickets to the hit Broadway play Chicago.

Wine dinners are the course du fare the next two evenings. Morton's The Steakhouse will host a four-course, five-wine pairings dinner on September 26 and Del Frisco's will host a dinner featuring Buckler and the wines the following evening, September 27, in its famed wine cellar. These wine dinners exude epic evenings where Adobe Road Winery combines with the chef's best creations and the winery's best selections in a fun-filled night of wine education, storytelling, camaraderie and revelry.
