3: The number of top-five finishes posted by Brian Vickers in seven NASCAR Sprint Cup Series starts this season. Driving the No. 55 Michael Waltrip Racing Toyota, Vickers placed fifth at Bristol in March, fourth at Sonoma in June and fourth at Bristol in August in his ride-sharing role with Mark Martin and team owner Michael Waltrip. To put the accomplishment in perspective, Vickers has equaled the number of top-fives registered by Richard Petty Motorsports this year in 56 combined starts with Marcos Ambrose and Aric Almirola; Vickers has one more top-five this season than 2011 Cup championship runner-up Carl Edwards (28 starts); and Vickers has three more top-fives than Earnhardt Ganassi Racing, which has none in 56 combined starts with Juan Pablo Montoya and Jamie McMurray.
