Brumos/Porsche Motorsport Race Car Presentation And Delivery
Porsche Motorsport North America (PMNA) and Brumos Porsche delivered five special edition 911 GT3 Cup cars in a recent ceremony. Known as the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup 4.0 Brumos Commemorative Edition, the quintet of racecars were built in recognition of Brumos Racing's 2011 Rolex GRAND-AM GT championship-winning effort and to replicate the car the legendary race team used to capture team, driver and manufacturer titles. The unveiling and delivery took place at Brumos Autowerks, the celebrated race shop of the Jacksonville, Fla.-based organization.

The matching cars – the final five North American-spec GT3 Cup cars imported to the continent – enjoy a host of unique features. Most notably, each car has been converted by PMNA to the 4.0-liter, GRAND-AM “spec” normally aspirated race engine capable of 450 HP. PMNA was also responsible for the installation of the gearbox “blipper” system for quicker downshifts, a Motec data acquisition system with predictive lap timing as well as competition brake, wheel and steering sensors.
Brumos Racing added its own competition-only features including a dead pedal, under-pedal assembly floorboard and Motec display dash panel all done in carbon fiber. Additionally, Brumos installed a Digishield cover to the front bumper and hood and front debris shield to protect the car during anticipated PCA, SCCA and track-day use. Polished rear wing uprights, 911 GT3 Cup 4.0 rear deck identification badge and a chassis plaque with vehicle name and VIN number add to the cars’ aesthetic.
Cars were finished in the internationally recognized Brumos livery of red and blue stripes on Carrera White paint and adorned with a sticker-by-sticker, sponsorship representation of the 2011 entry. Above each door, the names of champions Andrew Davis (Athens, Ga.) and Leh Keen (Charleston, S.C.) are joined by the name of the new owner.
Chassis number wp0zzz99zcs798178 was delivered to Ron Thomas (Galena, Ohio) with McGrath Keen (Dublin, Ga.) and Leh Keen taking 798180. John Crosby (Mandeville, La.) receives 798181 while Michael Fux (Long Branch, N.J.) will have 798183. An anonymous owner has purchased chassis 798179.
