Cory Joyce Finishes 11th At Lonesome Pine (VA.) Raceway
Cory Joyce brought home an 11th-place finish in the United Auto Racing Association (UARA) STARS race at Lonesome Pine Raceway in Coeburn, Va., on Saturday night. Joyce steadily raced through the field to finish just outside the top 10 with the No. 20 Ultimate Turf Chevrolet after 150 laps of competition.

Joyce rolled off in the 18th position after experiencing a few challenges during the final technical inspection. The UARA-STARS rookie contender held his position until just before lap 100 when the Ultimate Turf team decided it was time to race their Chevrolet through the field.
With his car just a little too loose, Joyce worked closely with his crew chief to discuss different techniques to gain grip. Joyce brought the Ultimate Turf Chevrolet down pit road for an adjustment during a caution, and began racing through the field as soon as the green flag waved. During the final 65 laps, Joyce picked up six positions to cross the finish line in the 11th position.
"We had a good car," commented Joyce. "Thanks to Jason Sarvis, my interim crew chief, for helping us at Lonesome Pine Raceway this weekend. He and all the crew worked very hard to make changes during the race to allow us to get an 11th-place finish."
Joyce will join the rest of the UARA-STARS Series competitors at Anderson (S.C.) Motor Speedway on Saturday, October 6.
