OAK Racing Back In LM P1 Fuji, Is Also In LM P2 Podium

The seventh round of the FIA World Endurance will be held on October 14 Fuji Speedway in Japan. The French team OAK Racing will enter two prototypes: a Morgan-2012 Nissan LMP2 and LMP1 OAK-HPD. Indeed, after a hiatus of three tests, the LM P1 No. 15, equipped with engine developed by Honda Performance Development, will regain the competition with its wheel a "child of the land", the Japanese driver Takuma Sato.

Takuma Sato made his debut aboard the prototype on the Magny-Cours circuit in France on 27 September during the debugging of the car, followed by a day of driving tomorrow. The test day of 10 October on the Japanese circuit will provide an opportunity to test the car "in situation" with his teammates and Dominik Bertrand Baguette Kraihamer.

The team hopes to be among the private teams with this new package, OAK chassis, engine and tires HPD Dunlop, OAK Racing team exclusive development in LM P1.

For its part, Morgan LM P2 2012 No. 24 will return to its usual crew. Jacques Nicolet, driver class "silver" and team owner, and Matthieu Lahaye and Olivier Pla. With two podiums WEC since the beginning of the season, the crew will be at the heart of achieving the excellent performance of the LM P2, designed and made by the manufacturer of the department team Onroak Automotive.

Sébastien Philippe, Team Principal: "The 6 Hours of Fuji will return to the LMP1 OAK World Championship. This will also be the first race on a prototype Takuma Sato, we are very proud to welcome them to the team.

As for the team, he will find the circuit that I personally have practiced a lot during my racing career and I will find with pleasure. I have no doubt that its characteristics, especially the long straight almost 1.5 km, in our favor and that of the Morgan-2012 Nissan LM P2 has a good speed.
We are all anxious to see how the OAK-HPD will have to compete, the LM P1 Strakka, JRM or Rebellion. Competition performing his last two races as we tackle our first two. However, testing at Magny-Cours went well and allow us to address this requirement if it is with complete peace of mind at least without too much stress! '

Takuma Sato, driver of the HPD LMP1 OAK-15: "The day shakedown and test at Magny-Cours went well and I am even more excited to run with OAK Racing in Japan . I think the team has done the best preparation possible given the time and I approach this whole operation team with a very positive impression.

The engineers were satisfied because they think the car has made interesting performances. So I think we will be competitive on the Fuji Speedway. It will be very exciting and interesting weekend for both the Endurance World Championship and for the fans. The plot has unique characteristics. It has one of the longest straights of permanent circuits and technical areas fairly complex, which implies that the set-up should be a good compromise. I hope the aero package that we tested at Magny-Cours will give us a good speed. I am ready to face a new challenge and I can not wait to start working with the team, as well as to find my Japanese fans. '

Matthieu Lahaye, driver of the Morgan-2012 Nissan LM P2 # 24: "I have fond memories of my experience in Japan with OAK Racing and our victory over the Okayama circuit in 2009. That we were quite successful! In addition, it is difficult to imagine how in Europe the Japanese public is passionate about motorsports, the 24 Hours of Le Mans and endurance in general, and I will find happiness with this special atmosphere and enthusiasm of many fans.

It is also always interesting to discover a new circuit. I practiced a little console and simulator, and it seems more appropriate than Bahrain or Sao Paulo qualities of the car. We will all ways a day of running to familiarize ourselves with the layout before the first free practice at heart and we, being passed several times next to the result that our performance allowed us to hope to get a win .
