2012 Charlotte II: Danica Patrick NASCAR Nationwide Race Preview

Cole Whitt
Hellmann’s Chevrolet

“It seems like I’ve been waiting for a while to get an-other opportunity to race at Charlotte. We had a car that was good on the long run in the spring. We were caught up in someone else’s mess and ended up in the garage for repairs, so that was really frustrating. We’ve also put a lot of work into improving on our cars since then. Each week its seems like we find somewhere we can improve and that’s a good thing. It will be a lot cooler this weekend, and that will be something for us to consider during the practice. “Charlotte is also one of my favorite tracks because it feels like you’re racing in your backyard. You’re so close to home that it gives the event a unique feel.”

“I think that Ryan (Pemberton) and I will definitely be more comfortable with each other and more confident in what we’re doing based on these past couple weeks. In general, things like getting through those initial first meetings of how big the changes should be, what we should do going into the race and how we communicate. The first time is the hardest with all those things, so it should be better as we go. But it is another weekend and it will present different challenges. If we start further away from where we need to be with the car, it could be a little bit of a challenging weekend. We’ll face that chal-lenge if it happens, and we’ll be better for it. And we’ll be better prepared the next time it happens.”
