14: In the last 18 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races at Charlotte Motor Speedway, the number that have been won from starting positions inside the top 10, suggesting that cars that are fast in qualifying trim retain an edge in speed in race setups. During that span of 18 events, dating to the fall of 2003, Kevin Harvick is the race winner who started deepest in the field (27th in the 2011 Coca-Cola 600). Jimmie Johnson is the only driver to win a Charlotte points race from the pole in the past 18 races, a feat he accomplished twice, in the spring of 2004 and the fall of 2009.
