Bank Of America 500 Pit Note #11 - Kentucky Speedway Announces Sponsor Extension

“This is really a fun announcement for us to make,” said Mark Simendinger, Kentucky Speedway general manager. “UNOH will extend its partnership with us to sponsor our 225-mile NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race for another three years. So that will bring it up to a total of five. I hope that we have five more after that. Not only has this been a great partnership for us, it has been a very, very enjoyable one, as well. I would like to recognize Steve Farmer for all the work he has done for us. We’re proud of what we have been able to do to bring the University of Northwestern Ohio with us. They do an awesome job of training people for motorsports. They have become a major force in the area.”

“We are excited about extending our relationship with Kentucky Speedway,” said Jeff Jarvis, president of UNOH. “For what it does for our current students, the branding relationship we have, potential students and the business opportunities. Everyone at SMI and Kentucky Speedway has been so gracious to us and worked hard to help us out and help our students and faculty out. It’s just a natural to want to continue the relationship.”

“That is pretty strong,” said NASCAR driver Kenny Wallace, spokesperson for UNOH. “We all know how tough it is for these races to have a sponsor. To have a sponsor extend its relationship for three more years says a lot about UNOH and about NASCAR. We don’t hear many of these announcements, so I want to point out that is a really, really strong comment. We haven’t heard many of those the last few years. As somebody who loves the sport of NASCAR, this is one thing we have been missing for a long time: sponsors coming in and being loyal.”

National Breast Cancer Foundation Receives Special Gift – NASCAR Nationwide Series driver Danica Patrick and sponsor GoDaddy.com presented the National Breast Cancer Foundation a check for $50,000 this afternoon. In making the donation, Patrick presented the check to National Breast Cancer Foundation Director of Marketing Susan Morales and National Breast Cancer Foundation Chief Operating Officer Kevin Hail.

“Obviously, it’s October, so everywhere you look you see pink,” said Patrick. “I’m proud to be driving a pink car this weekend. On behalf of GoDaddy.com and GoDaddy.org, it’s a real honor, and I am truly privileged to be a part of it. This is a great initiative to work with the National Breast Cancer Foundation. We’re working on kicking breast cancer’s butt.”

“We would like to thank GoDaddy.com and GoDaddy.org for making this contribution to breast cancer research,” said Morales. “This is truly making a difference in the lives of those affected by breast cancer. The National Breast Cancer Foundation’s mission is to save lives through early detection, and we really appreciate your getting the word out.”
