Solid Run From Carter 2 Motorsports To Wrap Up Season

Friday nights race at Kansas Speedway was not only the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards season finale, but the wrap up of Carter 2 Motorsports, C2M, first full season back after some time off from the series. While the team began the season with running three to four cars, the lack of funding and more competitive field forced the C2M to revaluate their game plan. The re-grouping during the summer months paid off and the team quickly turned their luck around and positioned themselves as a consistent team. The teams best finish of the season came at the Illinois State Fairgrounds where Thomas F. O’Leary, driving the No. 40 Dodge, finished in 13th place respectively.

The Kansas Lottery 98.9 was another solid run for C2M, as they built on their momentum from the past few months. Rookie Evan Pardo, driving the No. 40 Life Partners Incorporated Dodge, proved once again that he is a driver to watch next season. Competing in only his second ARCA start, the 20-year-old overcame lack of track position and loss of radio communication to an impressive 15th place finish. In his one previous start, Pardo finished 14th at Salem Speedway.

“I had a blast tonight,” said an excited Pardo. “I lost radio communication at one point of the race and lost some spots on pit road because of it, but we were able to pick them back up, and I learned a lot. I can’t wait to see what next season will bring. I can’t thank Life Partners Inc., Race Day Sponsor, C2M enough for all the support and for giving me a fast Dodge.”

Driving the second car for C2M this weekend was Maryeve Dufault behind the No. 04 Valvoline NextGen Motor Oil Dodge. As one of the two females in the race, Dufault also ran a pink bumper in support of Breast Cancer Awareness month. Competing in her third start for C2M this season, the Canadian native had to work her way up through the field after qualifying mid-pack. While the competitive 40-car field proved to be a challenge, Dufault managed to gain seven spots on her starting spot to finish in 19th place respectively, despite battling motor issues.

“Overall the team worked really hard and did a great pit stops,” said Dufault, who previously raced for the team at Salem Speedway where she consistently ran in the top 10. “I had my eyes on a top 10 but we brought the car back in one piece at a track that can bite quickly with the new asphalt and high speeds. It was definitely a fun and fast track to race on.”

Owner Roger Carter was very pleased with the teams showing at Kansas Speedway, and overall performance this season.

“We had a good finish to the season. Evan was fast all night and was able to overcome radio issue that cost him a couple of laps in the pits. Maryeve also had a solid run despite some motor issues, but she gave a 100 percent,” said Carter, who is still finalizing plans for next year. “I am so proud of our team. We are very excited for 2013 and I want to thank all our supporters and fans.”

A special thanks to team sponsors R.J. Nash Construction, Kentucky Building, Racedaysponsors.com, Gunk and Liquid Wrench, Savetheusconstitution.org, irstaxsurvivor.com for the continued support throughout the whole season.
