2012 NHRA: Brogdon's Vegas Game Plan Unfolding Right On Schedule
Rodger Brogdon's plan for the MAVTV Chevy Camaro was to qualify around the top half of the field and ruin the day of some Pro Stock's Countdown to the Championship contenders.

Brogdon qualified in the No. 11 spot for Sunday's Big O Tires NHRA Nationals, so the next step is to win some rounds.
"It's not too bad," Brogdon said. "My qualifying streak is still going, which is a good thing. We had oil on our ties this morning, and couldn't make a good enough run to move up in the field.
"Otherwise I think we could have run a 6.64 and been a little closer to the top half. Now we're ready to be a thorn in somebody's side."
The MAVTV Camaro had a best lap of 6.650 seconds at 206.45 mph. Brogdon will face No. 6 qualifier Ron Krisher in the first round on Sunday. Krisher had a best lap of 6.636 seconds at 208.04 mph.
Brogdon said the team was a little short-handed after Brogdon's crew chief left the team without warning earlier in the week.
"We were under the gun a little bit," Brogdon said. "Steve Kent's crew chief has had to make the calls for two cars, and they've really not had the time to make all the calls the way they want to.
"We knew it'd be a struggle, but we aren't going to let one man dictate what the team's going to do."
Brogdon said the team was already formulating a performance plan for Sunday.
"I think we'll be able to be a little more aggressive in the morning," Brogdon said. "We're here at these last two races to measure where we're at. Just judging of this weekend, we're about where we think we were.
"We'll work had the next two or three months and close the gap on some of these teams out here."
Eliminations at the Big O Tires NHRA Nationals get under way at 11 a.m. PDT from The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
