Palm Beach Florida based Orbit Racing has a long and successful history – including winning the 2004 Rolex 24 race with drivers Johnny Mowlem and Robin Liddell – and pole position for the 2003 Rolex 24 race with factory Porsche ace Marc Lieb. Anticipation and expectations are high for the team’s 2013 challenge with one car confirmed, and deals for a second car coming together.

Orbit Racing team owner Rodger Hawley, «There seems to be a real renaissance occuring in American sports car racing. Interest from pro drivers and enthusiasts to compete at the 2013 Rolex 24 at Daytona is more than ever, which I think is the result of the recent announcement that the Grand-Am and American LeMans Series are coming together for the 2014 season. The Orbit team has tasted champagne at Daytona, and I am excited that our 2013 driver roster has a real shot to do so once again! »

Rolex 24 at Daytona is America’s most famous endurance race. The 51st edition is scheduled for January 26th and 27th, taking place on the 3.56 mile road course at the world famous Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Florida. Always marking the start of the global racing calendar, many top drivers from around the world participate in the event before their regular series kick-off their schedules, including top stars from IndyCar and NASCAR.
