Race Track Business Conference Joins Race Industry Week

While most racers have entered their off-season, race track owners and promoters will be looking to get ‘on track’ in Orlando, Fla., Nov. 28 as the Race Track Business Conference 2012 becomes the newest addition to Race Industry Week in conjunction with the 25th annual PRI Trade Show at the Orange County Convention Center.

Tim Frost, publisher of National Speedway Directory, is organizing the Race Track Business Conference. Session topics for the conference will include Events, Marketing, Finance and Legal. Overall, the event will look at a wide variety of issues in the industry, from attracting more spectators, maximizing revenue and track investments to safety issues and track maintenance, while also keeping an eye on the future with the latest developments in technology.

“The PRI Trade Show is a powerful gathering place for the entire racing industry, and we wanted to add value to that experience for race track owners and operators by organizing a day-long conference just for them,” said Frost. “We’re looking to create a full spectrum of topics with expert presenters, including strategies for increasing ticket sales, securing additional revenue streams, efficient track maintenance and more.”

Promoter extraordinaire Humpy Wheeler, considered one of the most innovative minds in motorsports, will head the list of speakers for the conference. The International Motorsports Hall of Fame member is currently the chairman of The Wheeler Company.

Additional featured speakers include Derek Daly, of the Derek Daly Academy; Michael Culver, Skip Barber Racing School; John Lopes, Andretti Sports Marketing; Brock Yates, Jr., One Lap of America; Stoke Caldwell, Robinson, Bradshaw, & Hinson; David Pijot, Suntrust Bank; Chris Lencheski,Front Row Marketing Services; Bob Baker, National Sprint Car Hall of Fame; Russ Deane, Trainum, Snowdom & Deane; Bill Doyle, Performance Research, Inc.; Ruthie Forbes, Grand Solutions, Inc.; Gene Cottingham, Grand Solutions, Inc.; Mathew Efird, Robinson, Bradshaw & Hinson; Brian Ghidinelli, MotorsportReg.com; Joe Mattiolli, Group 341 / Pocono Raceway; Jon Hedges, Hedges & Company; Bob Barnard, Motorsports Services International; Jason Rittenbery, Palm Beach Internatonal Raceway; Terry Weber, Group 341; Steve Mumma, Security Engineering; and Justin Marks, Mooresville Motorplex.

“The competition for the entertainment dollar has never been greater,” said John Kilroy, PRI Trade Show producer. “It’s crucial that race tracks continue to provide a great value for fans in a clean, safe venue, while also finding new ways to market our sport to the public, which makes the Race Track Business Conference invaluable for the exchange of ideas throughout the industry. It’s truly a unique opportunity to be able to bring track promoters, the world’s leading safety authorities and the suppliers that provide product to so many of the facilities’ shops and stores all inside one exhibit hall during Race Industry Week.”

The Race Track Business Conference is one eight major events will take place in conjunction with this year’s PRI Trade Show, which will run Nov. 29 – Dec.1 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando. Overall, Race Industry Week is scheduled to include more than 35 special events to be held in conjunction with the 2012 Show.

The 25th Annual PRI Trade Show features the latest product lines of over 1,000 manufacturers of racing and high-performance automotive components, as well as precision machining equipment. It will be attended by approximately 38,000 racing business people from all over the United States, and from 70 countries.
