Michael Shank Racing Gearing Up For 2013 With Bruce Transporters
The Michael Shank Racing transporter was once again back in Florida over the weekend – only this time it wasn’t at Daytona International Speedway preparing to defend the team’s Rolex 24 title. Michael Shank Racing’s brand new state-of-the-art hauler from Bruce High Performance Transporters (http://www.brucetransporters.com) was on display at the 25th Annual Performance Racing Industry (PRI) Trade Show in Orlando.

Held at the Orange County Convention Center, the PRI Show marks one of the largest three-day business motorsports events as people from more than 70 countries attend the show. Michael Shank Racing Transportation and Logistics Manager Ralph Lohr drove the trailer to the event, marking the first trip in what should be at least a 15,000-mile season.
With over 1,000 companies on display around the 700,000 square foot facility, over 38,000 buyers perused the displays.
Shank recently took ownership of the hauler with it arriving to the team’s Pataskala-Ohio based shop in December. Bruce Hanusosky and wife, Judy, started High Tech Performance Trailers in 1981 and have been the leader in the custom transporter industry for 31 years.
“We’ve had a long history of working with Bruce, and I’m glad to be one of his first customers in this new venture,” said Rolex 24 At Daytona-winning team owner Mike Shank. “Like any race team, we’ve got a very specific list of needs and this new trailer matches them perfectly. It’s like Christmas came a little bit early for all of us with this new trailer, and we’re excited to get it out on the road and put it to use this season and for many years to come.”
Hanusosky was the first to take the car haulers of yesterday and turn them into the state-of-the-art customized transporters of today. He combined his love for motorsports and the desire to provide a better means for transporting racecars to the track and conceptualized a transporter that was as synonymous in quality, functionality and style with the cargo that it carried.
The PRI appearance was a big success with Shank’s new equipment.
“We had a great show-easily our best ever - there were guys coming back 2, 3, times and bringing new people with them to check it out each time!” offered Hanusosky. “Mike took delivery of our very first unit, and I’m really happy we were able to use it for the show and I’m pleased with the positive reaction we got with it.”
Michael Shank Racing will travel to Daytona International Speedway at the beginning of January for the Roar Before the 24 test days.
