There are 78 days left before the Feb. 24, 2013 Daytona 500; hence, the number for today is:

78: The number of laps led by Matt Kenseth in his most NASCAR Sprint Cup Series victory, which came in the 2012 Chase race at Kansas Speedway. In that event, Kenseth led more laps than he did in his two Daytona 500 wins combined. In 2009, when he triumphed in the rain-shortened season opener, Kenseth led seven laps. In 2012, Kenseth led 50 of 202 laps in the Daytona 500 and beat Dale Earnhardt Jr. to the stripe in a green-white-checkered-flag finish.
