72: The number of career NASCAR Sprint Cup Series poles accumulated by Jeff Gordon, most among active drivers and third-most all-time. Gordon, who has won at least one pole per season for 20 consecutive seasons, has three poles to his credit at Daytona. He earned the top starting spot for the Daytona 500 in 1999 and went on to win the race. Gordon’s other two Daytona poles came in July races.
