KAZ Grala Dominates Opening Weekend Of Us Legend Cars Winter Heat Series
Even though it's still December, the 2013 racing season was officially kicked off on Saturday at Charlotte Motor Speedway when Legend Cars took to the track for a double-header weekend to start the 8-round INEX Winter Heat Series. 13-year-old Kaz Grala, competing in the highest-level Pro Division for the first time, took home dominant wins in both events.

After spending most of Friday at the top of the practice charts, Grala proved it wasn't a fluke by setting the fastest speeds in time-trials on Saturday morning and later winning both heat races. The combined effort earned the Boston-native a pole starting position in each of the weekend's two feature races.
When the green flag flew for the first feature race, Grala, in his No. 3 OzLINK sponsored machine, took the lead coming out of turn two and led every lap until the checkered flag. The second feature race was a similar dominating performance. Both races ran caution-free.
“Winning the first two races of the season, especially in the Pro Division, is a dream come true,” said Grala. “Other than a few adjustments needed on the brakes, the car was just perfect all weekend. Dennis Lambert and the whole team worked incredibly hard to prepare for this event, and the results show.”
Grala goes into the next oval track double-header event on January 5th and 6th with a comfortable lead in the point standings over 2nd placed NASCAR rising-star Darrell Wallace, Jr. The INEX Winter Heat Series will continue on January 12th, 19th, 26th and 27th at the Charlotte Motor Speedway infield road course.
