69: The number of career NASCAR Sprint Cup Series poles won by three-time champion Cale Yarborough, fourth most all-time behind Richard Petty (123), David Pearson (113) and Jeff Gordon (72). A hard charger who loved superspeedway racing, Yarborough won 12 poles at Daytona International Speedway. In 1968, he won the Daytona 500 from the top starting position in the No. 21 Wood Brothers Ford. Sixteen years later, as a part-time competitor in Harry Ranier’s No. 28 Chevrolet, he repeated the feat, winning the 1984 Daytona 500 from the pole.
