The 2013 FIA World Touring Car Championship will be run on twelve events once again, and will visit Russia for the first time, on June 9 at Moscow Raceway.

The other eleven race meetings follow the same pattern of 2012: the opener at Monza, followed by Marrakech and the European rounds, with Portugal’s event moved back to Porto’s Boavista street circuit.
The usual round-the-world trip will fill the second part of the season: Brazil, USA (brought forward to the first weekend in September), Japan (two weeks after Sonoma), China and Macau that will host the finale for the ninth consecutive year.

FIVE MEETINGS FOR THE 2013 FIA ETCC
The 2013 FIA European Touring Car Cup will be run on five events, one more than in 2012.
Because this year’s experiment of hosting the ETCC within race meetings of the FIA World Touring Car Championship proved successful, again in 2013 the European Cup will visit Monza, the Slovakia Ring and the Salzburgring together with the WTCC.
Two stand alone events in Italy and at Brno will close the season.
Super 2000D and Super Production cars are no longer eligible and the series is composed of three classes: Super 2000, Super 1600 and Single Make Trophy.

CHARITY RACING FOR TOM CORONEL’S WIFE
Paulien Zwart, Tom Coronel’s wife and former ETCC racer, will take part in the Dubai 24 Hours on January 10th, 2013, together with four other Dutch female drivers with the aim to raise funds for charity.
Paulien will share a BMW 320D run by the Racing Divas Team Schubert with Sheila Verschuur, Gaby Uljee, Liesette Braams and Sandra van der Sloot.
They will donate part of the budget to ALS Nederland, a foundation that funds medical researches on the Amytrophic Lateral Sclerosis, a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells and spinal cord and eventually leads to general paralysis.
It is also possible to support them by buying one of the hearts that are sported on the livery of their racing car at www.racingdivas.nl.
The five ladies have already competed in last year’s 24 Hours, and finished in fourth position. Now they are aiming for a podium result.
SEASON GREETINGS FROM FIA WTCC
The FIA World Touring Car Championship’s staff wish a very Merry Christmas and a successful and happy New Year to all the people who have given their contribution to turn the championship’s 2012 season in a success: the FIA, manufacturers, drivers, teams, event promoters, partners, sponsors, suppliers, media and fans.
