The eighth grader from Massachusetts also broke the Charlotte Motor Speedway short oval track record in his No. 3 OzLINK sponsored machine during a pole qualifying run for Round 3 the day before.
“We expected the promotion to the Pro Division to be a real challenge, so in the off-season we prepared to raise our game in every way possible,” said Grala. “I am so proud of what we have accomplished and I am truly thankful for my parents and everyone at Dennis Lambert Racing, because this really is a team effort.”
The Boston-native will return to Charlotte Motor Speedway on January 12th for Round 5 of the Winter Heat Series. This round will be the first road course race of the series after running the first four events on the oval track within the facility.
“All of the momentum we have gained since the green flag flew on my first Pro Division race will hopefully keep us going well into the 2013 season. While most of our immediate attention is focused on the upcoming road races in the Winter Heat, we have also already started preparations for the Winter Nationals Championship at Auburndale Speedway (FL) in February.”
