The Bayshore Racing duo Montecalvo and Jeannette are accustomed to racing together but this weekend they will be competing against each other during the first round-the-clock event of the season.
The 24 Hours of Dubai takes place at the 3.349-mile (5.39km) Dubai Autodrome, located in the appropriately named Motorcity, United Arab Emirates, approximately 20 miles from Dubai’s city center. The Dubai Autodrome is known as one of the most modern racing surfaces in the world and has become a favorite to many drivers with its high-speed straights and technical corners.
Competing in his first 24 Hours of Dubai, Montecalvo will co-drive in the No. 151 Perfection Racing Europe Aston Martin Vantage V8 GT4 alongside an international driver lineup that includes Robert Nimkoff (USA), Kim Holmgaard (Denmark), Marcus Mahy (England) and Horowicz Philippe (Switzerland).
Gunnar Jeannette is also making his first appearance at the 24 Hours of Dubai. Jeanette is competing with the newly formed Ram Racing and is sharing driving duties of the No. 30 Ferrari Italia GT3 with a trio of international drivers – Cheerag Arya (India) plus American Le Mans Series regulars Johnny Mowlem (England) and Guy Smith (England).
The Bayshore Racing endurance racing duo of Montecalvo and Jeannette competed in a partial season of the 2012 FIA-WEC and a full season of GRAND-AM Road Racing.
In qualifying for tomorrow's first endurance event of the year, Jeannette's Ferrari was 11th fastest overall in the outright A6 class while Montecalvo's Aston Martin was 7th fastest in the SP3 class. Full full results, visit: http://live.24hseries.com/Results-24H-Dubai-2013
