Ferlito Motors Eager To Get Back On-Track For More Success In 2013

Ferlito Motors experienced a largely positive 2012 season. The team, managed by Vincenzo Ferlito, gave proof of strength throughout the year as they fielded two Jaguar XFR racecars powered by a SUPERSTARS-style 5.0-litre V8 engine developing more than 550 horsepower.

The leading figure of 2012 in terms of the driver line-up was veteran Max Pigoli, who cruised to victory in the season's opener at Monza. At his sixth season in the SUPERSTARS INTERNATIONAL SERIES, the Como-based driver, who also won the Italian SUPERSTARS Championship for Jaguar in 2006, is one of the most recognizable names in the sport.

In addition to him, several top names shared the team's second car as young Italian prospects Andrea Boffo and Ezio Muccio were partnered by British ace Tom Onslow-Cole and Indonesian Ananda Mikola. While Italian racer Gian Maria Gabbiani proved fast at Monza, Domenico Ferlito, son of Vincenzo, got behind the wheel at the Hungaroring, Spa-Francorchamps and Vallelunga.

"We're really satisfied with our season - told Vincenzo Ferlito - we dominated at Monza thanks to Max Pigoli, who ended up with a win and a second-place finish. We stayed competitive at Donington, but from that point on we hit some bad breaks including the crash that injured Max and made his life very hard in the final part of the season. As a consequence, we didn't have a true chance to stay at the front end of the charts. I'm confident for 2013. Our two cars are competitive and well-developed. We're working hard to improve further and be a major force this season."

"2012 started pretty well with a win at Monza - told Max Pigoli - and we were able to fight with Audi, BMW and Mercedes. Unfortunately, the crash at the Hungaroring left me with a broken shoulder tendon. I continued until Pergusa with a lot of pain and after some months I'm still at 50% fitness. In 2013 I will definitely be back for another SUPERSTARS season. This is my world and I hope to keep scoring positive results".
