Freddy Nordstrom Press Release - 15th January 2013
Freddy Nordström added another sterling accomplishment to his racing CV recently, when he completed the extremely challenging 24 Hour Dubai race. After leaving the chequered flag behind, Freddy and the DUWO Racing team scored an impressive fourth place in class against some stiff competition.

With two other drivers to share the team’s BMW 1 GTR machine Freddy enjoyed seven hours of driving around the Dubai Autodrome. Despite wrestling illness for the entirety of his inaugural 24 Hour Dubai experience, to complete a 24 hour race was a proud achievement for the youngster.
Challenges during the endurance race came in abundance for Freddy and the Luxembourg based team. After a strong start, drama hit one hour into Freddy’s first two hour stint when the entire left front wheel came off. The next driver suffered the same fate, this time as the right wheel disbanded from the BMW. A third wheel seemed to be heading the same way, however after a speedy revelation from the team they managed to stop a third wheel stud breaking before it happened. Suspension failure, gearbox failure and a broken throttle cable continued to bring chaos later on, but quick repair work from the team kept Freddy and his team-mates battling on.
With time lost in the pits for repairs the trio had a fight on their hands to reclaim position. Despite a collision five laps from the end Freddy’s team-mate managed to bring the BMW across the finish line for a strong result.
“We were glad to have finished, it was a great achievement,” said Freddy. “It was difficult driving through the illness but it didn’t distract from the experience. The 24 Hour Dubai race is something I’d like to do again. I want to thank the team for the chance to race with them, I greatly appreciate the opportunity. ”
A very complimentary review from the DUWO Racing team may see Freddy back behind the wheel during 2013 for more 24 hour long adventures. However, until then Freddy is now busy working on his plans for the coming season, with an aim to make an announcement in the near future.
