Riwald Dakar Team Groggy But Not Knock Out
Gert Huzink could not enjoy his strong 13th position in the longest Dakar stage for long. Inspection in the bivouac of his Ford HRX revealed the powertrain was dislocated after a rollover during the ninth stage. In one and the same special stage the Riwald Dakar Team lost both rally cars.

A few hours earlier the HRX Ford of Erik Wevers and Fabian Lurquin went up in flames. Now the technicians of Wevers Sport concluded the 346 HRX Ford had to much damage to proceed. After their best day result Gert Huzink and his French co-driver Eugenie Decré were forced to retire.
Back in 2014
The harsh conclusion that both cars are out caused some awkward hours full of disappointment and dismay,. But soon the typical Dutch sobriety made his reappearance. The Riwald Dakar Team is groggy but not knock out. In 2014 the team founded by Bernhard ten Brinke, Gert Huzink and Erik Wevers will be back in world's toughest rally. Again the privately entered squad has the goal to compete against and beat the factory teams.
Annie Kies remaining soldier
For the remaining of this Dakar Anne Kies will represent the Riwald Dakar Team. The experienced Dutchman (12 Dakars under his belt), co-driver Ed Wigman and mechanic Rob Buursen will do everything to get the Ginaf truck rally to the finish in Santiago (Chile).
