Huertas Returns To Carlin For Formula Renault 3.5
Carlos Huertas will return to Carlin for the 2013 season as he prepares for his second season in the Formula Renault 3.5 Series. The 21 year old Colombian driver returns to Carlin having already enjoyed race winning success with the team in the past. Following a difficult rookie season, Huertas looks ahead to a second year in the highly competitive championship.

Huertas makes a welcome return to Carlin having previously driven with the Championship winning team in the 2011 British Formula Three International Series where he clinched the final race win of the season on his way to finishing third in the overall standings.
Graduating to the Formula Renault 3.5 Series for the 2012 season Huertas was plagued by various issues during his rookie season which, despite showing speed during the course of the year, meant he was unable to capitalise on track.
Carlin have already confirmed Jazeman Jaafar as Huertas’ team mate with the Malaysian embarking on his rookie season in the series. The pair were previously Carlin team mates for the 2011 British Formula Three International Series.
The Colombian driver has been testing with the team during the official post season tests and is looking forward to making the most of his second year in the championship.
Huertas said, “It’s great to be back with Carlin for this season. I know everybody in the team well so it’s going to be a good year. We had a lot of good times together in 2011 and I think we can also enjoy success this year. I already know the tracks and the car well so I’m looking forward to hitting the ground running when we get to Monza.”
Trevor Carlin added, “Carlos is very well known to the team and was an extremely well liked member of our F3 squad in 2011, so it’s with great pleasure that we welcome him back for FR3.5. Carlos has spent post season testing familiarising himself with our car and should be in good shape when testing recommences in March. With Carlos and Jazeman the team have already gelled together well so we look forward to a successful season ahead.”
Pre-season testing for the upcoming year will begin in February with the first round taking place in Monza in April.
