The most anticipated portion of the weekend may be the Saturday night banquet to induct the newest members of the SCCA Hall of Fame. Beginning with a reception at 6 p.m. and dinner at 7 p.m., racing legends Barber and Rahal and representatives of the other new inductees will be on hand to receive their awards and regale those in attendance with some racing anecdotes.

The Hall of Fame Banquet caps a weekend that begins on Thursday afternoon with the Annual Meeting and Town Hall at 2 p.m. Friday and Saturday consist of meetings, training sessions and informative seminars on a variety of SCCA topics ranging from member recruitment and retention to autocross course design.

“2012 began a real era of change for the SCCA, and those plans continue to develop into new and exciting programs as we move into 2013,” Jeff Dahnert, SCCA President/CEO, said. “From the launch of the U.S. Majors Tour and the Match Tour format in the Tire Rack Solo program to Region management changes like our new insurance program, there are informative sessions that apply to every club member. Nothing can replace the personal interaction and exchange that takes place at our National Convention. And did we mention it’s in Vegas?”

In addition to the formal meetings, the SCCA staff has planned a number of optional excursions for those wishing to venture outside the South Point Hotel. On the list of these activities are a Las Vegas Light Show Bus Tour, tours of some of Las Vegas’s hottest clubs, and a visit to the Madame Tussauds Wax Museum, all at discount prices for convention visitors.
